We were delighted to welcome a Subject Specialist Advisor from Edexcel Paul Webster last week to meet with our Year 11 Drama students and gather feedback on their experience of the GCSE Drama curriculum.

The visit was an excellent opportunity for students to discuss their learning, practical experiences and preparation for the course. Paul was incredibly impressed by the group, describing our students as articulate, thoughtful and highly engaged. He commented on the confidence with which they were able to discuss their work, theatrical knowledge and creative experiences.

Paul shared how much he enjoyed his time at the school and praised the positive learning environment within the school. He described the visit as a wonderful experience and was particularly impressed by the enthusiasm, maturity and passion our students demonstrated throughout the discussions.

We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 students, who represented the school and the Drama department exceptionally well.

In June 2027, Anglo European School will have a team of 6 students attempt to swim the English Channel from Dover to France.

This will be team effort and the students will have to face cold water, jellyfish, waves and fatigue as they swim the 21 miles in a relay.

11 students have been training over the summer and have been demonstrating their open water swimming skills over the past two weeks at Trifarm in Boreham. In the coming weeks, they will have to complete a two-hour qualification swim in open water that is below 16 degrees. We will then select our final 6 that will go on to train throughout the winter and spring in preparation.

The team are doing this to raise funds for school projects and donations can be made using the following link: https://donate.giveasyoulive.com/fundraising/aes-channel-swim-2027

👏Congratulations to all the students who have stepped outside of their comfort zone for the opportunity to swim across the Channel, we wish all students well with their training at the next stage.

This October U6 student, Gabriel is taking on Prostate United by running 10 km every day to raise money and awareness for prostate cancer research.

He says: "Cancer used to feel like something that happened to people I didn’t know, but after my aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer and the mother of an old friend was diagnosed with skin cancer, I realised how many families are affected by it. Hearing about Jeremy Clarkson’s experience with prostate cancer also made me think more about the importance of awareness and early detection.

"I’m currently in Upper Sixth at Anglo European School and I’ll be taking on the challenge, alongside my studies and preliminary exams. I’ve also been on my own weight loss and fitness journey, going from around 100kg to 68kg over the past year and a half, so

"I wanted to set myself another challenge and see how far I can push myself. I’ll be sharing updates on my progress where possible and if you would like to support me, you can donate through my JustGiving page, below.

Or you can follow his progress on instagram .not.gabrielc

Good luck Garbriel!

We are delighted to share that brothers, Alexander in our Upper Sixth and Year 11 student Jasper have been successful in their auditions and have places in the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain for 2027.

This is the highest level musical organisation that a young person can be a part of in the UK, and it is a great privilege to have a place, in recognition of the talent and dedication shown to their music.

A year in the orchestra involves spending around 7-8 weeks of the year rehearsing, supporting other musicians and giving concerts. Alexander and Jasper will each join just five others who play their instrument, selected from across the country, combining with players of other instruments, to form an orchestra of 140 teenagers. This is a much bigger orchestra than standard, and they are known for their incredible sound and energy.

The National Youth Orchestra of 2027 can first be seen in London at the Barbican on Friday January 8th, with tickets completely free (but requiring booking) for under 19s.

They perform concerts all over the country but will be back in London later in the year, at the Royal Festival Hall and the Royal Albert Hall.
