Another brilliant night!!
We loosened up with some deep stretches and then moved onto some core strengthening before ending with a nice shavasana. My yogis worked hard on the core strengthening and are looking super good now when we do our flow. So proud of how everyone is doing and grateful we have new folks joining us each week. When everyone is well and back from holidays we'll have quite a crowd!!
Shall we do it all again next week? Why not!!
I'll see you there πŸ™

Wear it Pink day is not this coming Wednesday, 23rd, as I wrongly said last week (doh 🀣). It's the 23rd of October. Feel free to wear pink this week if you want, but we'll go for it properly in October and try to raise a bit of money for a great cause.

At Cycle & Flow, we practice various types of yoga. By mixing our classes up each week, we keep it stimulating and fun. Here's a list of the different types of yoga we use the most.

1. Hatha Yoga: A gentle, slow practice focused on basic postures and breathing, making it ideal for beginners.
2. Vinyasa Yoga: A flowing style that links smooth movements directly with the breath, often offering an athletic workout.
3. Ashtanga Yoga: A rigorous and demanding practice that moves through a strict, repeating sequence of postures.
4. Iyengar Yoga: A precise style that uses props like blocks and straps to ensure exact body alignment.
5. Yin Yoga: A slow style where seated or floor-based poses are held for several minutes to deeply stretch connective tissues.
6. Restorative Yoga: A deeply relaxing practice using props to fully support the body in passive poses for stress relief.

Tonight's yin flow. What can I say? My yogis were absolutely amazing. We held poses for a few minutes to work deep into the tendons to improve our flexibility and reset our bodies. Range of movement is so important and the greater the mobility we have the less chance we have of serious injury.
As always, we ran the class inclusively and kept it fun. No pressure to do more than what worked for you.
I'm so proud of how everyone is developing and it's also great to see new faces each week. We cannot thank everyone enough for not only supporting the classes but also for really investing in themselves and improving each week.

Our friendly, inclusive, and fun yoga classes continue this coming Wednesday, 16th September.
7:30pm - 8:30pm
Kirk Hallam Community Academy
Just Β£4 for the evening, with all kit provided.
This week, we're doing a Yin class. Yin yoga is typically slower and focuses on longer, deeper stretches that work beyond the muscles and go deep into connective tissues such as ligaments, tendons, and joints. A great way to work on those areas that cause you pain and discomfort and start that medicine-free rehabilitation.
New faces join all the time, so don't feel you need to be an expert yogi to come along. Everyone is welcome to come and give it a go!
Please book with the school to join us.

Another brilliant night with my yogis. We did some stretching using the straps, core work, and a bit of balance, before rounding things out with a relaxing shavasana. Some really noticeable improvement in people's flexibility since we started back in April. Fantastic to see and well done to everyone for coming along each week and making a huge difference to their overall wellbeing. Super proud of you all πŸ™
We'll be back next week. If anyone has anything they'd like to incorporate into a class let me know below and we'll make it happen. Look out for details over the weekend and enjoy the rest of your week.
