Tic Toc Nursery is a high quality day nursery and pre-school located in Clayhall, Ilford, Essex (IG5) and provides an outstanding childcare service for babies (3 months +), toddlers & children aged up to 5 years old. The nursery/pre-school is Ofsted-registered and accepts childcare vouchers as well as supporting the Government's free childcare schemes for eligible 2, 3 and 4-year-olds. This allows

them 15-30 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year if eligible for the scheme(s). We have a vast array of high quality learning resources, toys and equipment and the children learn mainly through play both indoors and outdoors. This includes via Forest School resources that help teach children about nature and the natural world. Our garden even has its own vegetable patch. We also ensure that children are able to enjoy and learn from an exciting range of extra-curricular activities, all overseen by professionals. At Tic Toc Nursery, every child has a Key Person allocated to them. This is a member of staff who ensures that children have a customised learning and development plan that's tailored and continually assessed. So, strengths can be enhanced and any weaker areas gradually brought up to full potential. In this way, children excel, achieving personal bests in every area. This also means they are as school-ready as possible by the time they leave is at the age of five to move on to school. Children who receive a good early years education in this way are shown to have the very best outcomes, with benefits enriching their lives and improving life chances right into adulthood. Our dining room has had a little makeover, creating a fresh and welcoming space for our children to enjoy their mealtimes together.

Mealtimes are an important part of the nursery day, not only providing nutritious food, but also giving children opportunities to develop independence, practise social skills, use their cutlery and enjoy positive conversations with their friends and educators.

🗣️✨ New Term, New Learning Theme: The Power of Words ✨🗣️

This term we're excited to introduce our new curriculum focus: The Power of Words.

Throughout the coming weeks, the children will enjoy a wide variety of engaging activities designed to develop their communication, language and literacy skills. From storytelling and role play to rhyming games, songs, mark making, puppets, Makaton, phonics activities and creative discussions, we'll be exploring just how powerful words can be.

By encouraging children to listen carefully, express their thoughts, ask questions and build their vocabulary, we're helping to lay the foundations for confident communication and future reading and writing.

Our curriculum has been carefully planned around the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), supporting communication and language, literacy, personal, social and emotional development and much more through exciting, play-based learning.

😊✋ Learning about feelings through sensory play!

Our children used flour to draw different facial expressions while talking about emotions such as happy, sad, surprised and excited.

This fun activity encouraged conversations about feelings while giving children the opportunity to develop their creativity and fine motor skills.

It supports the EYFS areas of personal, social and emotional development, communication and language, and physical development.
