Try not to worry if you didn’t get the desired result yesterday in English language.
If anyone is looking for support with resits for GCSE or functional skills please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I am a qualified teacher with 27 years experience and I take a nurturing, individual approach.

Good luck to all of my students receiving their GCSE grades today ! ⭐️

Here’s just a few things to think about :

1. Your child will get 2 separate grades for English, one is for literature one in for language . If they haven’t got a level 4 in language they will need to continue to study this to get a level 4 whatever their next steps are, they will not need to retake literature . Retakes in school and colleges take place in November but if you need much more work some colleges might suggest retaking next May/June.

2. Some students will get a letter next to their results. This is for the speaking element , it is not their grade .
This could be P- Pass, M- Merit, D - Distinction .

3. If your child doesn’t get the grade they were hoping for, check their score not just their grade. School, the organisation they’ve taken their exams at (or I’m happy to )can check this against the grade boundary. If it is a couple of marks off it might be worth a remark and can be remarked at a cost. If you have taken it in school or college you need to talk to them about it .

4. Please let me know your child’s grade, whatever it is .

5. Please don’t be disappointed if you didn’t get what you wanted . Exams are hard, lots of factors come into play for many students . If you know you have revised hard , given it your absolute all and put the work in you should be proud . There isn’t a magic wand for passing exams , it’s a team effort but ultimately down to hard work and commitment ( I’m good and I will make sure you are given all the tools to pass but I’m not a magic wand ).

This post is in relation to after school and weekend spaces ! I still have availability in the day time.😊

Gratefully 🙏 , I am fully booked for after school spaces now, until next June ( 2027 ). I am currently getting lots of enquiries, so I thought I would explain how my waiting list works .

Each June, I lose that year’s cohort of year 11’s and 13’s. Usually, it is only a handful of students that I lose as I have lots of younger students that will stay with me throughout their whole education ( as I teach primary and secondary ). Some years only 5 or 6 spaces become available ( next year there will be 7 ) . It is then quite rare that anything becomes available again throughout the next academic year . My year start is June not August / September.

I have a waiting list, for fairness, but unfortunately not all of the students on my list are guaranteed a space for the next year so it’s important to get on early !

Each new year, I contact the people at the top of the list regarding a space for that June, to see if they still want their space and to check that it fits around their schedule. Unfortunately, I don’t have endless spaces but I do try to be as accommodating as I can.

Also, some years my circumstances in the evenings change so I may not have availability where I previously did, it’s swings and roundabouts.

I always try to make it work and never let you down when a space is secured.

I will always try to do my best.😊

I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of my new starters this week ! 🙏 ⭐️

I would also like to say goodbye and good luck to all of my students who have just left me . Thank you for your kind words, cards and gifts! ❤️

I get booked up very quickly for after school spaces. I am currently full for the next academic year so please get on my waiting list for June 2027!
