✨Managing Meltdowns✨

If you missed my demo at the Happy Mama Hub on Saturday, you would have missed a beautiful live rendition of this song I wrote 😂

So I thought I would record it and share for you all! 💕

I wrote this grounding song to help with 5 key steps when managing meltdowns.

✨ Pause and be Present
✨ Connection
✨ Breathe
✨ Ground our Bodies
✨ Words of Affirmation

This song incorporates all of the above steps! Sing it with your littles when they are happy and calm, so they get used to the rhythm and following the steps. Then, when they need these skills as their emotions begin to feel overwhelming, they are already well practiced! 🥰

✨ Deep Breaths = Nervous System Reset
✨ Pushing Feet = Activating the Proprioceptive System
✨ Listening = Engaging Senses
✨ Shaking Arms & Legs = Activating the Sympathetic Nervous System
✨ I am Brave & Strong = Positive Affirmations

I wrote this song step by step, with purpose, to give your little ones a FULL BODY/ NERVOUS SYSTEM reboot. To help keep their “rational” brain online and to aid regulation & calmness 😌

Next time you think of saying “CAN WE CALM DOWN PLEASE?”… try singing this song instead. Guide your child to the destination of calm, rather than expecting them to find the way themselves ❤️

✨Rooted in Business✨

Last week, I attended a Women’s Circle with Lou Lou Moore Coaching & EFT at Siane Hanson-Wellness

To say, that this was one of the most supportive, comforting, energising and uplifting rooms of women I have ever been in, is an understatement. It is so important that we find time to pause, reflect, dream and manifest… this space offered all of that ❤️

Sometimes, connection and sisterhood is exactly the tonic we need 💫

I have been finding some aspects of life really tricky at the moment, and I walked away from this session feeling grounded, optimistic and uplifted 😌

✨Responding to Worries✨

Making our children feel heard and seen is ALWAYS the goal… not necessarily fixing their problems for them ❤️

Validation can go such a long way and it is true that sharing worries can sometimes help to make them feel more manageable 🥰

When your children tell you what parts of school they are finding hard, we can make sure they are equipped with the tools and knowledge of how to cope with these worries… but also - we have shown them that it is safe to share these worries with us 🗣️

We aren’t belittling them. We aren’t saying “don’t worry about that!” ❌

We are saying; “I hear you. I understand why that worries you. What could you do when you are feeling that way? How do you feel now you’ve shared that with me?” ✅

Validate them. Give them the confidence to take on their challenges. Reassure them that they can come to you again ❤️

✨Back to School Communication✨

Here are three tips to breaking down communication about back to school worries! 🥰

1. Using the Expanding Ball can help you child physically show you how big their worries are 🎱
2. I love getting creative about how feelings feel inside our bodies… using different Weather is a great way for your child to talk about their feelings - without having to find the exact words ☀️ ⛈️ 💨
3. Toys are fantastic for non-verbal communication… I couldn’t not bring out these Emotion Monsters again from JackieG Creations!
