The Children love this when it comes to the Pre-School, if anybody is around it's a great time to choose some different books πŸ˜ŠπŸ“š

πŸ“š Free books for children aged 0–11! πŸ“š

I’m excited to be bringing Storybook Village to Alconbury Weald Library on Wednesday 12th August, from 10.30am–12pm.

Children are welcome to come along and choose up to 5 books each to take home and treasure, completely free of charge.

Whether your child is already a little bookworm or just discovering the joy of stories, I’d love to help them find some new books to enjoy.

πŸ’› All families are welcome.

I’m always grateful for donations of good quality second-hand children’s books, helping me continue to share stories with local families. If you have books looking for a new home, please send me a message and I can arrange collection or drop-off.

The books are given away entirely free of charge. If you wish to leave a donation, there will be a voluntary collection for The Angels Foundation UK.

I can’t wait to welcome lots of little bookworms! πŸ“š

I think we were all hoping for an England final, but unfortunately it was not meant to be.

Congratulations to Spain and Argentina on getting through to the final! ⚽️

We think the Children have really enjoyed our World Cup journey and helping us fill out the chart when their teams played.

We got a lot of "did my team win", "is my team still in". Unfortunately we did get some unhappy ones when their team was knocked out! πŸ˜”

The prizes have been given out to the 2 teams through!

⭐️Week 16 fun week⭐️

This week started off with a lovely walk and play at the park.

The Children made Watermelon Pizza with Yoghurt for the sauce and Blueberries and Chocolate chips for the toppings πŸ•

We made Dinosaur eggs with special messages inside them, the Children really enjoyed using the hammers to try and break them apart and got really excited when they found the message inside πŸ¦–πŸ¦•

They built with the magna tiles, played with the cars and did lots of dancing and games.

⭐️Week 15 Fun week⭐️

This week we spent as much time as we could in the garden in the mornings before it became too hot. We enjoyed playing with playdough, in the mud kitchen and on the climbing frame and swing.

We had Helen come to see us from Storybook Village, she read the children a story called 'The talent show', which the children really seemed to enjoy and they sat so well. After the story the children were allowed to chose 3 books to take home and lots of concentration went into this process πŸ˜„

We did a bit of dancing with 'Danny Go' and best part of the week the children also had an amazing time making Child sized bubbles!!

We have 16 chairs and 4 tables (2 Blue, 2 Red) going free if anybody would like them.
They do have signs of wear and tear but it doesn't affect the use.
Feel free to share 😊

πŸ“šβœ¨ Tiny Tales To Go visit βœ¨πŸ“š

This morning, I visited Alconbury Community Preschool with Tiny Tales To Go - Storybook Village’s outreach project for under 5s!

We read The Talent Show, a short story about belonging and celebrating each other as individuals, before the children got to choose some free books to take home.

It was wonderful to see the excitement as children browsed the books, found stories they loved, and chose something special to take home and keep. Seeing children so enthusiastic about books is exactly why Storybook Village exists - every child deserves books of their very own. πŸ’›

A huge thank you to Alconbury Community Preschool for welcoming Tiny Tales To Go, and to everyone who continues to support Storybook Village and help us get books into the hands of local children for free.

πŸ“– Every book chosen is a new adventure waiting to begin.
