🎨✨ A little trip through our Arts & Crafts box! ✨🎨

Today we had a rummage through our arts & crafts box and discovered something we hadn’t used in years… WATER BEADS! 💧🌈

We originally used them for a Halloween activity 🎃👻 and thought, why not get them out and use them again?!

The children had lots of fun exploring the water beads — feeling their texture, watching them bounce around and using them for some lovely sensory play.

Who knows what else we might find on our next rummage through the craft box! 👀🎨

* this was an adult led activity and no children was left alone with the beads! - adults like to have fun too.

🍂🦉 Autumn Adventures at Laura’s Little Owls! 🦉🍂

Autumn is well and truly here, and we’ve been making the most of the beautiful changes happening around us! 🍁🍂

Our school walks have been full of little discoveries, including picking up conkers, spotting different coloured leaves, looking at trees and noticing all the wonderful things nature has to offer. 🌳🍁🌰

The children have loved being outdoors, exploring, collecting treasures and talking about what they can see around them. These simple everyday adventures provide so many opportunities for learning through play — from developing language and curiosity to practising coordination and encouraging a love of nature. 🥰

There’s something so special about watching little ones get excited about the smallest discoveries!

We have been getting creative with our ⭐ stars ⭐

The children enjoyed tearing and scrunching colourful tissue paper before carefully gluing it into the stars. This simple activity was lots of fun while also helping to develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and creativity. 🌈🩷💛💙

There was lots of concentration as little hands worked hard to fill every space! ⭐✨

At Laura’s Little Owls, we love finding fun and creative ways to support learning through play. 🦉💕

Today, our older children enjoyed a lovely baking activity making apple crumble 🍏 🥣

They helped to prepare the apples, washing, peeling, and cutting. developing their independence and confidence along the way, the smaller apples were picked from our allotment at the weekend. 🍏

Baking is also a wonderful opportunity to support lots of learning, including following instructions, measuring, counting, turn-taking and talking about changes in ingredients and textures.

What a busy sunny Thursday! ☀️ 👮‍♂️

After the school walk, A trip into town to the library where we attempted the community puzzle, then a cheeky Costa 🙈

Then we went to Hartford school for the Fate, where we picked up the school children joined in on the fun then sat in a police car and saw the blue lights flash!
