Natural materials should be an integral element of children's play. They are easily accessible and encourage children to learn about nature, Foster creativity, imagination and discovery. When using natural materials within the environment it enables children to be observant and to use all their senses. πππ

Autumn is such a wonderful time to go out exploring natural objects that we can later use in activities. Here are just a few of the activities we have undertaken. This week on our plan we have conker rolling and lots of pumpkin play alongside halloween arts and crafts.

It is with deepest sadness that we have lost her majesty the queen. We will be taking a week rest from our current theme to enable us to reflect on the importance of our monarchy.
This morning we have been for a walk over to our local church to show our respect and condolences. πππ―

The sun is shining here π.
We are doing one of our favourite things to do and that's water play, and mostly transporting water using a variety of tools. Water play activities help to develop and strengthen children's gross and fine motor skills. Children enhance their gross motor skills, coordination and physical fitness through lifting, pouring, carrying and splashing, while actions such as squeezing help to develop the small muscles in a child's hands.
We hope you all enjoy a lovely sunny week.

We've had a very exciting morning, checking in on our veggies that we grew. It turns out that we had a few successful pots such as potatoes, a few types of lettuce, mint and spring onion. After disecting the plants, we used all of our senses to explore them further, we then extended our topic to have a go at drawing what we had explored.
Using many senses to gather information helps learning to be more meaningful and useful. Children naturally learn with all the senses.
