🌺🌷🪻The children enjoyed observing the flowers outdoors today! They looked closely at the colours, shapes, and sizes of the petals, stems, and leaves before using paint and brushes to create their own flower paintings. One child folded their paper in half after painting and was so proud to discover they had created a symmetrical print. This activity supported observation skills, colour recognition, creativity, fine motor control, and sharing ideas with their peers🌺 🍃

🧸✨ Today we enjoyed sharing the story Cave Baby! The children were inspired to help Mr Bear make his cave bright, cosy, and beautiful. They loved working together to decorate the cave and were so excited to sit inside and imagine they were part of the story.

The children explored their creativity by making their own cave drawings using chalk and crayons, sharing ideas and bringing the story to life through their artwork. One child discovered that they could use both hands to make marks at the same time, creating an exciting effect. This sparked the curiosity of the other children, who were eager to try the technique themselves, encouraging shared exploration, creativity, and learning together

🪙🪙Today we explored different numbers, recognising and identifying each one. The children then used wooden resources to match the correct quantity to the corresponding numeral. This hands-on activity supported number recognition, counting skills, and one-to-one correspondence while encouraging independent thinking and problem-solving.

A very special day yesterday! 👑

Whilst children across our three settings were excitedly creating crowns and castles in celebration of a very special visitor to our town, our Director Michelle Cook was honoured to be part of a group of local leaders and community changemakers meeting His Majesty King Charles III.

It was a wonderful opportunity to share the positive changes happening across Grimsby and the important role that early years education, community spaces and local partnerships play in helping children and families thrive.
