At Christmas there’s a lot of pressure to be perfect and have it all. We see adverts showing happy families in matching PJs, huge piles of expensive presents, nobody is having a drunken row, grieving for a loved one, struggling with finding money for their Christmas dinner or feeling lonely in these adverts.
The Samaritans have a free number - 116 123 (UK). A simple copy and paste might save someone's life.
Would 3 of my Facebook friends please copy this post?? Thank you. 😊

Today, we have been running an Emergency First Aid course for some members of the Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team. Although many members hold the Mountain Rescue Casualty Care certificate, it is still a requirement for those that don't, to hold an alternate First Aid qualification covering Basic Life Support

We had the pleasure of working with Lee from Hex physio the other week at Siddal RL.
Lee chatting about pitch incident management, including the awareness of head and spine injuries, and we ran an introductory session on CPR and AED usage.
We look forward to future collaboration..

First Aiders and Game Day Managers from junior and open age Siddal teams have this week taken part in some refresher training at the club as we prepare for the start of the 2022 season. The training was provided by our NCL physio Lee Cholmondeley of Hex Physio and Mark Clarke of M Clarke Training.

Lee and Mark demonstrated techniques in the event of an emergency on or around the field of play. These included how to respond to head injuries, looking for tell tale signs of concussion, the performance of CPR and using the club's Defibrillator and how to manage suspected spinal injuries.

We are very grateful for the time and effort Lee and Mark have taken in training our first aiders and game day managers and also to our volunteers from around the club who have once again given up their free time for the benefit of players and potentially spectators in the event of an emergency.

This is just another example of Siddal pushing the boundaries to create better knowledge and experiences for our volunteers.
