Teams4U Shoebox Appeal 2026 🎁🎄🎅

We are pleased to let you know that we will be supporting the Teams4U Shoebox Appeal this year. This morning the children took part in a fantastic assembly led by Gill from Teams4U, where they learned about the appeal, what happens to the shoeboxes once they are collected and how they can create their own shoebox gift to help bring joy to a child in need this Christmas. Gill from Teams4U also commented on how well-behaved the children were during the assembly. We are incredibly proud of the excellent attitude, enthusiasm, and respect they showed throughout the assembly.

A leaflet will be sent home with every child explaining how you can get involved. If you would like to fill a shoebox, please contact the school office or ask your child to collect a donation leaflet and a wrapped shoebox from the office (unless you already have a suitable shoebox at home).

All completed shoeboxes should be returned to school by Monday 2nd November 2026.

If you are unable to complete a full shoebox, we would be very grateful for donations of individual items. Please note that a minimum donation of £1.00 is requested with individual item donations to help cover transport and delivery costs.

This afternoon, Year 6 began their Design Technology project to make playground structures. They worked well in pairs and threes to construct their creations and had to consider how to reinforce them and how to make them safe to use. They are currently a work in progress so watch this space for their completed projects. One child commented, “This is the best lesson so far this year!” ✂️🪵🛝

🚲 Year 6 Bikeability Course 🚲
Last week, our Year 6 pupils took part in their Bikeability course and did a fantastic job! 🌟

They developed their cycling skills, learned how to stay safe on the roads, and built confidence while riding. It was wonderful to see them putting their skills into practice and showing such enthusiasm throughout the course.

Last week our Year 3 children stepped back in time to the prehistoric ear🔙

The children explored how our ancestors created art by using natural materials and traditional techniques. They used charcoal to draw British animals, just as prehistoric people may have done thousands of years ago🐦‍⬛They got hands-on creating their own cave walls from Modroc, carefully shaping and preparing them for artwork🖼️

To experience art in a truly prehistoric way, the children experimented with seasonings to make natural paints ( the classroom smelt like cinnamon for a while) and scavanaged for sticks and leaves as paintbrushes 🖌️ Finally, they brought it all together by creating their own traditional cave paintings on the cave walls they had made themselves🎨

We are so proud of everyone who took part, they showed determination and gave it their all. It was fantastic to see so many children getting involved, supporting one another and enjoying the experience.
