🤩 My office is more fun than yours! Welcome to the new home of Launchpad STEM!
A couple of weeks ago, I packed up my desk in the co-working area at and moved across the corridor to set up our new private office space.
I’ve been setting it up thoughtfully to ensure it’s a productive space for me but also an inviting space for children that sparks wonder and creativity.
We still have access to the meeting rooms for bigger classes but this has been great for one-to-one tuition and small groups.
Most importantly though, it’s a space for me (as selfish as that sounds). This is my new hub for creativity and deep work. A lot of exciting ideas and developments are going to come from this office - watch this space!

Launchpad STEM - Thank you so much for becoming a Rockstar - you have made Evie and her family so so happy, as you can see it means the world to them.
The holiday meant so much to us.
We as a family are making a many memories as possible and going away meant so much it took us away from hospital life and cancer for a short amount of time and allowed us to do things.
For the first time in months it allowed Evie to relax a little and be a child, yes she got tired, yes she was still having chemotherapy but we captured some pictures, we heard laughter, we saw smiles and we connected. Some of these things are easily forgotten about when hospital is your second home. We can't thank you enough for allowing is the opportunity. You've helped us create memories that wouldn't have been possible with your help and the support from Ruddi's Retreat so thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Ruddi's Retreat thank you so much the feedback applies to you guys also it really does mean alot we are living on a knife edge and just to be normal for a few days was wonderful.

Transforming posters into interactive, multimedia experiences with Makey Makey!
These pupils used the Interactive Poster feature from Makey Makey's free Plug & Play Apps and then created touchpads on their posters using conductive materials. Next, they added images and audio reflections to appear on screen in response to the touchpads.
Teachers regularly ask children to create posters as a visual way to capture information, learning and reflections. This is such a fun (and surprisingly easy) way to take it to another level and introduce additional tools for creativity and expression.
Plus, they get to apply their understanding of circuits and conductivity!

We had an absolute blast supporting Calderdale College with their Healthy Holidays Calderdale programme at the Inspire Centre!
It was such an enjoyable couple of days - what a fantastic group of children and staff! Everyone was so creative, collaborative and enthusiastic!

We were just about to move into our new office space at The Media Centre so I challenged the children to create something for it that would look fantastic on display.
Mission accomplished! Didn't they do well?
It's amazing what children can create from just imagination, craft sticks and clever little connectors!

This lovely testimonial from Mrs Graham at Royds Hall is actually a bit outdated now. It says we worked together throughout the Autumn Term but we actually continued working together after this was written, all throughout the academic year. I feel like part of the furniture there!
And it doesn’t stop there! I’ll continue working with their ARP department on a weekly basis next year too!
This has become one of our most valued partnerships and Mrs Graham is undoubtedly one of our biggest cheerleaders. Long may it continue!

We had so much fun at the July STEM Camp that we decided to run another one in August!
Across the two days, the children enjoyed a wide range of activities and challenges. Yes, there was lots of technical learning but the real magic was watching them grow in confidence, persevere through problems and work collaboratively.

I had such an inspiring day at Entrepreneurs Circle HQ! I walked away with so many ideas and lightbulb moments.
I’m really excited to take all of the actions with the aim of providing the best possible experience for Launchpad STEM children and families.
In particular, “Will it make the boat go faster?” really stuck with me. It’s exactly what I need to hear - so much so that I framed the poster for my new office!
