Wellbeing Wednesday โœจ

This week, we're helping children explore the positive qualities that make them unique with a Strengths Quiz!

This fun and engaging activity encourages pupils to think about different personal strengths and recognise positive qualities in themselves and others.

Talking about strengths is a wonderful way to support self-esteem, emotional wellbeing and positive self-awareness. It also helps children appreciate the qualities of those around them, building positive relationships and developing important social and emotional skills.

A simple but powerful activity to get children talking about what makes them special and to remind them that everyone has strengths worth celebrating. ๐ŸŒˆโœจ

๐Ÿ€ Year 3 & 4 Basketball Champions! ๐Ÿ€

A huge well done to our Year 3 and 4 basketball teams, who represented the school brilliantly at the recent Pennine Sports Partnership competition. Their resilience, teamwork and outstanding sportsmanship were on display throughout the day.
We are incredibly proud of every player, and congratulations to the team who were crowned overall winners of the competition.

Well done all โ€“ you were amazing ambassadors for our school! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ‘

Year 1 children enjoyed a visit from Miss Blore's grandparents on Wednesday afternoon. They came in to speak to us about houses from the past and what it was like growing up for them. The children enjoyed looking at old photos of them, looking at photos of their house in the past, and asking them lots of questions about life in the past. This supported the children in their history learning for this term about houses in the past.

Our School Councillors attended leadership training last week!

They explored what makes a good leader, discussed important leadership qualities, and shared ideas for improvements they would like to make around the school. They also learned about the exciting opportunities they'll have this year, both in school and out in the community.

We can't wait to see them put their ideas into action! ๐Ÿ‘โญ

๐Ÿ“ธ What a fantastic Sponsorship Afternoon! ๐ŸŽ‰

Our pupils had lots of fun taking part in singing, dancing, exercise, reading and many other activities, all to help raise money for new PE equipment for our school. A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us so far.

There's still time to donate via our GoFundMe page. Every donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated and will help us provide even more opportunities for our children. โค๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŽถ

๐ŸŒŸ Wellbeing Wednesday is Back! ๐ŸŒŸ

This week, we're kicking off Optimistic October with a fun and simple wellbeing challenge! ๐Ÿ‚โœจ

The Optimistic October Bingo from ELSA support encourages children to focus on the positives, spot opportunities, and think about the things they can look forward to throughout the month. From trying something new and noticing good things about their day, to thinking positively about the future, each activity helps build optimism and resilience.

Let's make October a month of hope, positivity and looking forward to great things ahead! ๐Ÿ’›

Did you know? Regular eye tests can play an important role in supporting your child's learning and development.

The University of Huddersfield Valli Opticians offers specialist eye care services for children, including:

๐Ÿ”น Paediatric Eye Clinics
Specialist assessments of children's vision and eye health, helping to identify and manage common vision problems that may impact learning and development.

๐Ÿ”น Myopia Management Clinic
Support for children who are short-sighted (myopic). Early intervention can help slow the progression of myopia and reduce the risk of future eye health issues.

Many childhood vision problems can develop without obvious symptoms, making regular eye examinations an important part of keeping children healthy and supporting them to achieve their full potential.
