Recap;

In collaboration with and , the Mic Champs workshop was delivered at Huddersfield Town’s Community Hub for young adults (aged 12-17) throughout their summer holidays.

Four sessions was delivered in the hub, touching on rhyme patterns, creative writing exercises, brainstorming on topics, lyric writing and choosing the specific instrumental to align with their lyrics.

The 5th session was a recording session at for each young adult to express their unique voices and written pieces.

It’s always a pleasure to see how the young adults engage, bond through similar interests and create their written pieces.

(Consent via parent/guardian & school for each student was granted throughout the project).

Here are the feedback forms by staff and students whom attended the 2024 Schools Programme, delivered at sponsored by

The feedback exceeded our expectation! The next day, we received an email from Pastoral Base that 13 students knocked on their door from Year 9/10 to collect a journaling book to help organise their thoughts, to vent and understand themselves. The first step to self love. 🙌

Last night, I attended the Football Black List, alongside the Huddersfield Town Foundation celebrating African and Caribbean community members influencing the next generation in football throughout Yorkshire. ⚽️

Honestly, I met some great people!

One spokesman mentioned - “To make a change, you can’t be on the sideline screaming to the do-er’s what needs to be changed. It’s about creating a change through our actions, being on the ground and help nurture the youth”.

I felt that one! 🫡

Creative writing sessions at Bates Mill, Huddersfield.

LOVE ISLAND was the favourite show of a young person who decided to brainstorm/write a piece on what Love Island meant to them.

This young person preferred to stay anonymous. I couldn’t help but admire how immersed they was in this workshop. Exploring their imagination with the interests they have. This is a judgment-free zone for each young person to express what’s on their minds.

Pics taken from the Youth Conference Conflict Resolutions conference at the University of Huddersfield. It was a pleasure to be invited to present the inspiration behind the workshop, achievements and future goals. After the presentation, protégé’s from the workshop stepped to the stage to perform their latest track called ‘BT Bop’. Watch out for the music video about to drop! 🎥

The Conference was filled with high schools, community groups, those working with young people, police, Kirklees Council, NHS, KNH, and individuals interested in the topic.

The purpose of this conference was to bring people together to hear about some of the excellent work that is happening locally as well as hear from leading national speakers on effective approaches to tackling this issue.

A big thanks to the for acknowledging our recent work with the students on the workshop.
The youth of today need support and positive action in place to assist them to be the best version of themselves.
Who would of thought the song would reach to these heights! 🙌
