We are delighted to be announcing the winners of the SVRI Research Grant 2023 Knowledge for Action to End Violence Against Women and Violence Against Children in our webinar on 13th April💥 From an outstanding 312 applications received, 9 research teams will be awarded grants.

We will also be hearing from past grantees from Brazil, India and Kenya about how their research has helped us to advance the field.

Originalmente, o termo s*xting une as expressões s*x, referindo-se ao s**o, à expressão texting, referindo-se à mensagem. No Brasil, “a expressão s*xting está associada ao envio de imagens do corpo, popularmente conhecidas como “nudes”, gíria utilizada pelos jovens para se referir a imagens com conteúdo s*xual recebidas ou enviadas”. (Souza, et al., 2020).

The unauthorized sharing of nudity or s*x, in English, 's*xting', is one of the main online s*xual violence practices in Brazil. Originally, the term s*xting joins the expressions s*x, referring to s*x, to the expression texting, referring to the message. In Brazil, “the expression s*xting is associated with sending images of the body, popularly known as “nudes”, a slang used by young people to refer to images with s*xual content received or sent”. (Souza, et al., 2020).

Happy International Women's Day!

Our research team looked at a lot of information about young people sending s*xually suggestive messages (s*xts) and found that only a few of them actually do it. Instead, more young people get messages like this or are asked to send them.
