✨ Mindful Makers – Polymer Clay Mirror Decorating ✨
Mindful Makers summer workshop- our young people will be getting creative by decorating mirrors with colourful polymer clay.
This activity is about so much more than making something beautiful. As we create, we’ll be opening up conversations about self-image, confidence, and self-esteem encouraging young people to recognise their strengths, appreciate what makes them unique, and reflect on the importance of speaking kindly to themselves.
Creativity provides a safe and relaxed space for meaningful conversations, helping to build confidence while having fun and learning new skills.
can’t wait to see everyone’s unique designs and celebrate the individuality that makes each one special!!

If a young person or child is struggling they may not always have the words to tell us. Sometimes their emotions show up in ways we don’t expect.
If you ever discover that a young person has been self-harming, try to lead with calm rather than panic. While it’s completely understandable to feel shocked or upset, they need to know they can come to you without fear of being judged or getting into trouble.
You don’t need to have the perfect words. Often, simply saying, “I’m here for you,” and listening with kindness can mean more than trying to fix everything straight away.
Keep checking in, even if they don’t say much. Small conversations, quality time together and reminding them they’re loved and valued can help them feel less alone.
Supporting a young person through difficult emotions isn’t about having all the answers. it’s about helping them feel safe enough to share what’s on their mind.

💙 The Importance of Youth Centres 💙
This week I had the pleasure of delivering a Mindful Makers wellbeing workshop at a local youth centre, and it was a wonderful reminder of just how valuable these spaces are for young people.
Youth centres provide so much more than just somewhere to go after school. They offer a safe, welcoming environment where young people can build friendships, develop confidence, learn new skills, and access trusted adults who can offer guidance and support.
Research shows that having positive activities and supportive relationships can improve self-esteem, reduce feelings of isolation, strengthen resilience, and promote better mental wellbeing.
At Mindful Makers, our workshops use creative activities and mindfulness to help young people explore their emotions, build confidence, and develop healthy coping strategies all while having fun and connecting with others.
A huge thank you to the youth centre for welcoming me. It was fantastic to see so much creativity, laughter, and teamwork throughout the session.
If you’re part of a youth centre, school, community group, or organisation looking to support the wellbeing of young people through engaging, hands-on workshops, I’d love to hear from you.
Together, we can help create spaces where young people feel safe, valued, and empowered to thrive.

✨ Did you know? ✨
Many young people struggle with self-esteem, especially as they navigate school, friendships, social media, and the pressures of growing up.
Research has shown that journalling can help by:
• Building self-awareness
• Reducing stress and anxiety
• Encouraging positive self-talk
• Helping children and teens process their emotions in a safe way
• Boosting confidence by recognising their strengths and achievements
That’s why my Mindful Makers Workshops combine creativity with mindfulness and guided journalling. It’s not about being a great writer or artist it’s about giving young people a space to slow down, reflect, express themselves, and build confidence from within.
Every child deserves the chance to feel heard, valued, and proud of who they are.
If you’re looking for a supportive, creative activity that nurtures emotional wellbeing, I’d love to welcome your child to a Mindful Makers Workshops.
