🪄 We had a wonderful last session with Jittabugs tonight after school, dancing in the bubbles, making spells and having some early Halloween fun! 👻

🌿🥾 Our EYFS children had a fantastic time on their local walk to Penshaw Monument! They enjoyed spotting horses, exploring the beautiful views of Herrington Park and the farmers’ fields, and even spotting ASDA from afar! 👀🐴

Despite the windy weather, the children enjoyed a special snack treat on Penshaw Monument. We are so proud of how well everyone behaved and how brilliantly they represented our school! 💜

A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us and helped make our adventure so special! 😊

🌾🍂 Celebrating Harvest Festival at New Penshaw Academy! 🍂

What a lovely time we’ve had celebrating our Harvest Festival!

Our children came together for a special assembly where we reflected on our school values of kindness and contribution. We enjoyed some wonderful harvest-themed songs and were delighted to share our assembly with residents from Valley View and Penshaw House. It was a special opportunity to bring our school and wider community together.

A huge THANK YOU to all our parents, carers and children for your incredibly generous donations to our harvest collection. Your kindness and support are truly appreciated, and your contributions will help make a difference to others.

We are so proud of our children for showing such thoughtfulness, compassion and community spirit. 🌻

A huge thank you to all parents and carers who attended our after school reading event in EYFS tonight!

We had a fabulous time sharing a story together (The Three Little Pigs) with snacks before exploring our provision and partaking in exciting activities. Some of us made delicious piggy biscuits, some of us made our own story spoons and others made story plates. We also LOVED to hear adults acting out parts of the story with their children, using repetitive language from the story!

Thank you again for your attendance tonight and for being part of such special memories!📚💜

📚 EYFS Reading Event – TODAY! 📚

A friendly reminder that our EYFS Reading Event is taking place today after school, from 3.30pm – 4.30pm.

Parents and carers are warmly invited to come into school with their child and enjoy some special reading time together. 📖❤️

🌾 We’ve made a good little start to our donation collection for Harvest Festival. Our children and families have been working together to give back to our community. Please, if you can, help us to do this by donating a long life food stuff or toiletries to school by this Friday 9th October. Thank you 🍄‍🟫

This week Nursery and Reception have had a focus on 'families' and have explored this theme through a range of books. We have created recipes for Gruffalo Granny outside using natural materials, we have shared the story of 'Owl Babies' and made Owl Mother from playdough, we have discussed who lives in our house and made a pebble picture to show each person as well as making loose parts faces and nature friends using our collage skills.

We have also worked hard on our letter formation and our fine motor skills, using conkers to follow different types of lines and taking a conker for a walk! Reception children have been using chalk and painting letters with water to practice writing the sounds we have been learning in phonics.
