This week our Year 1 children enjoyed their school trip to the British Wildlife Centre. They learnt what different animals eat and all about their habitats. Their guides taught them about some of our endangered animals and what we can do to help.
We are extremely proud of the children's behaviour and a huge thank you to all the helpers who joined us.
A quote of the day "but I don’t want to leave. I’ll have to come back here for my job".

The reception children enjoyed baking bread this week. Miss Carne forgot to buy the flour but luckily the Little Red Hen dropped some off at school so we could bake our bread rolls. We also wrote a set of instructions and drew some pictures to say thank you.
"Little Red Hen saved the day!"
"I had my bread roll with butter and jam."
"I had fruit with mine."
"My bread was yummy!"
"Can we bake bread again?"

We are looking forward to the new Pollination Education Station that is being delivered next week. We are still looking for: fir cones, bark, moss, twigs, small logs, bricks, tiles, sheep’s wool, hollow plant material like bamboo, pheasants berry and maybe bull rushes.

Also, any plants to encourage pollinators e.g. thyme, sage, chives, marjoram, oregano too. Top soil/compost donations would also be very welcome.

There will be a stall at the end of the day on Thursday, 23rd by the Reception gate where you will be able to buy wildlife houses and find out more about Horsham’s Nature Corridors. πŸπŸžπŸ¦‹πŸ•·πŸ‚πŸͺ΅πŸŒΏ

Lets Get Creative Day, this term we linked our day with an author who produces her own artwork – Emily Gravett. Classes chose an Emily Gravett book to base their activities on, she uses a mixture of art techniques in her books, she often uses collage, in some books she uses photographs/images of real objects layered with her own drawings and paintings. The children and staff really enjoyed the day and produced some great art work that we are hoping to display in our school. Thank you to all parent/carers who helped on the morning.🎨

"When I'm sad I breath in and out".
"I have a big hug with my whole family and dog".
"I like to go swimming."
"I cuddle my kittens!"
"I watch TV with Mummy and Daddy and have a hot chocolate!"
