Homemade blackberry ice paints 🍇

We used fresh berries to make our very own fruity paints! These paints are taste safe, to ensure that we could all join in.
It was so lovely to watch the children smiling and using this unique way to make marks.

We were very interested to explore some conkers that we found, as they were still inside their spiny husk! We used chalks to represent how they looked, naming their colour and using single words and short phrases to describe their texture.

We then took our conkers outdoors and by experimenting with different heights we tried to free them from their husks. The conkers husks were so tough and protective that we could not free the conkers, we will continue to explore our gardens treasures throughout the Autumn term, observing the natural changes that occur. Amazing exploring little ones! 🌳

Homemade blackberry crumble 🍇

Earlier this week while exploring our sunny field, we came accross a ragged edge bush with dark dark red fruit growing on it. We shared ideas, and realised that we had found a blackberry bush! This led us to decide together to use blackberries in our cooking this week. With help from Laura and Sophie our little cooks prepared blackberry crumble. The children made comparisons between our store bought blackberries and the wild fruits that we found in our garden which gave a great opportunity for extended learning about The World. Arnie bear watched the children working and creating together.

When the crumple was cooked through we shared it as one of our snack offerings, it was a very popular choice and definirely will be a recepie that we use again!

Its already week 2!

Time is flying by, and we are already part of the way through our second week of All About Me. Its been a lovely week of togetherness and welcoming new faces to preschool.

This week on the snack menu we are offering a selection of berries, with water biscuits or toast and some very special homemade treats, made by Laura and her little chefs!

Please can we ask that if you have been given a Unique child form please ensure that you complete and return it to us.

A final reminder - preschool closes promptly at 3pm, it is really important that we adhere to this as we share use of our hall. Please ensure you are here in time to collect your child/ren.

We are here if you need anything, just ask, lets learn and grow together!

Welcome back to preschool and Autumn term 1! 🌻

We are so happy to invite our exsisting and new families into preschool for an exciting term of learning starting with All about me! As always we will be learning new makaton signs each week, and folliwing our chilldrens intetests to support each childs pace, celebrating their individual acheivements. 🤗

Arnie bear will be out in the community again, joining one of our families this afternoon. 🐻
