And sadly, that’s it folks! 16 of my year 11’s have now flown the nest and from tomorrow I get a new batch of pupils to teach!

Although I’ve been teaching for 26 years, it never gets easier saying goodbye to my pupils. Especially with tuition, where some of these kids we have looked after since they were 6, then seeing them leave us when they are 16 is heartbreaking ❤️‍🩹

Thanks ever so much for the leaving gifts and cards - they are really appreciated. I received so many lovely things ranging from chocolates, new gym bags and even a glorious olive tree for my garden lol. All will be cherished!

Thanks again to everyone who has supported me with helping their children. It’s parents like you that help us and the kids grow!

Free 10k steps a day challenge for the May half term.

Soo… as you may have noticed from my last couple of stories I’ve been trying to get myself fit (especially now i am well past middle age). I downloaded this app ‘WeWard’ which tracks your footsteps and allows you to add friends and family onto it.

I’ve been using this app with one of our tuition parents Alli Akbari, and it’s been very motivational seeing each others steps and urging each other on.

For the May half term, Alli and I will try doing a 10k steps a day over the half term holidays (Monday-Sunday) to try and get at least 70k steps in for the week, or possibly more!

The app is completely free (see link below) and also the more you walk, you can actually get paid and prizes for walking. It takes about 4 months to earn a free gift card or money, but if it helps you get those steps in, why not!
