Our insert puzzles help our little ones develop a range of skills.

Picking up and placing pieces strengthens their hand muscles and improves finger control.

It helps their hand eye coordination helping them to visually guide their hands accurately.

They begin to understand how objects relate in size, orientation, and position.

By working out where a piece fits it helps to encourage trial-and-error thinking

Talking about colours, shapes, animals, letters, or numbers on the puzzle helps build their vocabulary.

When successfully completing a puzzle it gives them a sense of achievement and helps build their self confidence.

Santa's post office is officially open! Bring the kids into Elm Park Library and ask for a letter to Santa at the desk. Write your letter, put it in the Post Box and you will get a letter back from the North Pole! The last collection date to make sure they get a reply in time for Christmas is the 17th of December.

All ages are welcome and this is completely free!

Water play is a fantastic and engaging activity for young children, offering a range of developmental benefits. When it comes to activities like measuring, pouring, and sink or float, children are not just having fun—they are also building key cognitive, motor, and social skills

When children pour water from one container to another or use measuring cups, they develop hand-eye coordination, precision, and control.

Water play helps children learn basic math concepts like volume, quantity, and measurement. They can compare different amounts of water, learn about full/empty, and practice counting using measuring cups.

The sink or float activity helps children understand basic scientific principles like density and buoyancy. By experimenting with various objects, they start to grasp concepts like weight, material, and volume.

This week the children have been using various resource’s to make their poppies for our window display and door wreath. Having different resources around for them to choose from helps them in developing their ability to make decisions for themselves, allows them to express themselves and make something that is unique to them. Tools such as paint brushes, glue spreaders snd scissors are excellent for building control and strength in their hands, getting them ready for writing.
