Short Responses

📘 Short Explanation
These are useful German phrases for reacting quickly in everyday situations. They express refusal, uncertainty, surprise, memory, and opinion.

Very important:
Lass es sein usually means Stop it / Leave it / Don’t do it, not always “Let it be.”

Ist mir egal means I don’t care, but it can sound direct or rude. Softer:
Das ist mir nicht so wichtig.
= That is not so important to me.

Ich glaube schon is more naturally:
I think so / I guess so.

📌 3 Important Examples:
😅 Das war keine Absicht. — That was not intentional.
🤷 Das weiß ich leider nicht. — Unfortunately, I don’t know that.
⏳ Ich bin mir noch nicht sicher. — I’m not sure yet.

💡 Tips / Fun Fact:
👉 Ich will nicht sounds very direct. Softer: Ich möchte lieber nicht.
👉 Vergiss es! can sound strong, like Forget it! / No way!
👉 Ich kann nichts dafür often means It’s not my fault or I can’t help it, depending on context.
