🥵 Cooling off in the best way possible 🌊

Our Outdoor Pursuits students raced off site today for an afternoon of kayaking!

With the temperatures soaring, there couldn’t have been a better way to cool down. It was the perfect opportunity to enjoy the sunshine, build confidence on the water, and have plenty of fun along the way.

What a fantastic way to spend the afternoon! 🚣‍♀️🏄‍♂️💙

🐌 Giant African Land Snails – Looking for New Homes! 🐌

We’re looking to rehome a number of Giant African Land Snails free of charge to suitable homes.

These fascinating little creatures are easy to care for and make great pets for anyone interested in invertebrates. We simply want to ensure they go to responsible owners who can provide the correct care.

If you’re interested in giving some of these amazing snails a new home, please send us a message. We’d be happy to answer any questions and provide care advice if needed.

Do you have a passion for animals and experience working with horses? We're looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Animal Care Assistant to join our growing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an incredible variety of animals, including horses, dogs, goats, sheep, chickens, reptiles, monkeys, meerkats, aquatic species, and many more. No two days are the same, and our animal family continues to grow!

If you're reliable, hardworking, enjoy working outdoors, and want to make a real difference to animal welfare, we'd love to hear from you.

This is a position for over 18's only due to insurance purposes.

💙Happy Father’s Day from all of us at Millbrook Horizons!💙

Today we’re celebrating all the amazing dads, grandads, stepdads, father figures, and carers who help their families grow, learn, and thrive.

Did you know that some of the animals here at Millbrook Horizons are fantastic fathers too?

🐒 Common Marmoset dads are some of the most dedicated fathers in the animal kingdom, carrying their babies on their backs and helping to care for them every day.

🦗 Meerkat families work together to raise their young, with fathers helping to protect and support the group.

🐟 Bristlenose Pleco dads carefully guard their eggs and keep them safe until they hatch.

Wishing a wonderful Father’s Day to all those who care, support, teach, and protect—whether you’re a human dad or an animal one! 🩵

Meet Echo the Gecko! 💚

Did you know that leopard geckos like Echo actually eat their own shed skin when they molt? 😮

It might sound a bit gross, but it’s super clever! By doing this, Echo:
✨ Recycles important nutrients
✨ Keeps his enclosure clean
✨ Avoids leaving scents that could attract predators in the wild

Even cooler—right before shedding, Echo turns a pale, almost ghostly colour… like a little gecko in disguise 👻
