We don’t throw away our left over Mother’s Day flowers.. instead we make daffodil potions 🧪

The children have had such fun playing with the flowers and exploring lots of different utensils like pipettes, measuring tubes, sieves of all sizes and potion pots to put them in!

Bubbles water and sunshine is a never ending play opportunity that our guys never want to stop playing with 🙂

I had two wonderful little helpers today help me choose some mothers day flowers for all our mummy’s this week ready for Sunday, and also to choose some new resources for our garden! The Big Spring Garden spruce is underway 🥰

📚📖 World Book Week 📖📚

This week our children have brought their favourite books in from home for us to read each day at story time 🥰
This morning was Ella’s Peppa pig book with songs and stories
I wonder what story we will have this afternoon 🤔🥰

🌈 Colour Fun!! 🌈

Today’s painting, turned into mixing colours and talking about the different colours we can make, using different rollers and sponges to make marks in different ways and getting messy with our friends!

Seeing the ducks and trying out our new quad wagon!! ❤️ 🦆

We can’t wait for Spring and more glorious sunshine for lots more adventures together in our new quad wagon alongside our quad pushchair! More seats mean lots more days where we can explore all together!

I noticed our First Steps gang had so many wonderful converstaions with each other being sat opposite their friends, so we just pushed quietly and listened to their lovely interactions with eachother 🙂 think we might need another one 👀😂

We also had lots of lovely waves and polite hellos from everyone today, we’re so lucky to have such kind and polite children 🥰

🥞 Shrove Tuesday 🥞

We don’t have many sweet treats here as it’s usually all fruit and goodness but when it’s pancake day and also half term with the big kids joining us, we all needed a little sweet treat today 🙂

Everyone had lots of fun creating our own pancakes to eat with different toppings such as honey, chocolate, and blueberries 🥰

⭐️ Our First outing of 2026 ⭐️

We had such a lovely time on our muddy walk this morning, we jumped in puddles, we stopped and watched the ducks splash, we hunted for sticks of all sizes and we also had a stop at the park before lunch time 🙂
Waterproofs and Wellies allow for unlimited messy walks ✅🥰

❤️❤️ Valentines Week ❤️❤️

This week our children have been busy exploring open ended play with sensory activities and lots of natural resources, creating crafts to take home to loved ones and having a go at new challenges like using scissors to cut our own craft pieces! Tomorrow is our valentines scavenger hunt walk, out of the setting to end the week, we may even have a little valentines treat to eat too! 👀❤️ So if you see us give us a wave!! 👋

🎄 We would just like to say a massive Merry Christmas to all our wonderful family’s and we wish you the most magical Christmas break and an amazing New Year!!

Thank you to each and everyone of you that has sent us Christmas cards and gifts they are all so lovely and we couldn’t be anymore grateful so thank you so so much we have been truly spoilt!

What a year 2025 has been, we have had some amazing things happen at first steps this year and we cannot wait to see what 2026 brings!

🎅 First Steps is feeling very festive 🎅
We had a wonderful visit from Santa today and all the children got to chat, have a dance and sing songs with him! We had a great time and we can’t wait to finish the end of term with lots more festive fun! .. Tomorrow.. Stick man and hot chocolate 🥰❤️
