I might still be on my holidays, but this week is all about spending time with my very own little (not so little!) human who calls me Mum. ❤️

That still doesn’t stop me getting excited about one of our subscriptions for the little ones at Hayley’s House! 🥰

I can’t wait to discover what wonderful activities it will bring us and all the fun we’ll have exploring, creating and learning together. ✨

🛍️ When the childminder goes on holiday… 😂

You know you’re a childminder when you go away on holiday, have a little wander around the local charity shops and somehow end up finding goodies for the childminding children! 🙈😂

I just can’t help myself! I’m always on the lookout for new little treasures, toys and resources that I know the children at Hayley’s House will love exploring when we’re back together. 💛

There’s something I love about charity shop finds too — giving something a new home, keeping costs down and finding those little hidden gems that often become the children’s absolute favourites.

So apparently even when “Childminder Hayley” is on holiday… she’s not completely off duty! 😂🏖️

Can’t wait to show the little ones what I’ve found! 🥰

🦋 Throwback to Our Butterflies 🦋

What an amazing experience this was for the children! We started with the tiniest little caterpillars and had the wonderful opportunity to watch their incredible journey as they transformed into beautiful butterflies. 🐛➡️🦋

Each day we checked on our caterpillars, watching as they ate and grew bigger and bigger. Alongside this, we made our very own Tiny Hungry Caterpillar handprints, enjoyed reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar with our story sack, and had lots of fun sequencing the story together. 📚🐛

Before long, we noticed our caterpillars hanging upside down and getting ready for their next stage. Then, almost before we knew it, they had transformed into chrysalides!

We carefully moved them into our butterfly garden and the waiting began… 👀

Every day the children would excitedly check to see if anything had happened. We waited and waited until one day, to our amazement, we discovered the most beautiful butterflies! 🦋✨

We continued our butterfly theme with some beautiful crafts, and of course, the children absolutely loved becoming butterflies themselves and wearing their very own butterfly wings.

Such a wonderful hands-on experience, giving the children the opportunity to watch the butterfly life cycle happen right before their eyes. 🐛🦋

Definitely one of those magical Hayley’s House memories. ❤️

🎄 Throwback to Christmas 🎄

We do love creating special, memorable gifts at Hayley’s House, and last Christmas we made something that I hope will be treasured for many years to come. ❤️

⛄ A wooden snowman as tall as each child! ⛄

The idea was to capture just how little they were at 1, 2 or 3 years old, so that in years to come their families can look back and remember exactly how tall they once were.

First, we stood against the wood, measured ourselves and drew a line to mark our height. Together, we then cut the wood to the right size ready to turn it into our snowman.

The children helped paint their snowmen before adding their own little handprints to create the buttons. 🖐️🎨

To make them even more personal, I asked the mummies and daddies to bring in a woolly hat that their child had worn when they were younger. We added these to the finished snowmen, making each one completely unique. 🥹

Safe to say, the mummies and daddies absolutely loved them!

Such a simple idea, but such a precious keepsake of just how small they once were. ⛄️❤️

I wonder what we’ll create this Christmas… 🎄✨

🌿 A Rare Space Available at Hayley’s House Childminding 🌿

I currently have limited availability at Hayley’s House Childminding for a little one aged between 3 months and 3 years. 💛

I offer a warm, loving and nurturing home-from-home environment where children are encouraged to learn, explore and develop at their own pace.

Our days are filled with so much variety—from adventures at the woods, parks, zoo and our allotment, to baking, messy play, crafts, sensory activities and plenty of opportunities for free play at home. 🌳🎨🌱

I’m open Monday–Thursday, 8am–5pm, and pride myself on providing a small, personal setting where children become part of our little Hayley’s House family. 🏡

If you’re looking for childcare or know a family who may be, please feel free to send me a message for more information or to arrange a visit.

Shares are always greatly appreciated and really help my little business reach local families. 💛

☀️ And that’s me done for the summer holidays! ☀️

What an amazing few weeks we’ve had at Hayley’s House Childminding. We’ve explored, laughed, learned, created, grown, cooked and made so many wonderful memories together. 💛

But now it’s time for Hayley to switch off childminder mode for a little while and enjoy some very precious time with my little family. 🥰

I’m looking forward to slowing down, spending quality time with my boy and making some special family memories of our own. 💙

Thank you to all of my wonderful families for another fantastic summer and for trusting me with your precious little ones. It really is a privilege to be part of their adventures and watch them grow.

Now… Childminder on holiday! 🏖️☀️🍦

See you all after a well-earned break, ready for even more adventures at Hayley’s House! 💛🏡

🏡 Thursday Adventures at Hayley’s House 🏡

Thursday’s adventure was a day at Hayley’s House, and we were just as busy as we are on our days out! 💛

We started our morning by making some very yummy cherry scones. 🍒 The children got stuck straight in, mixing, kneading, pressing and rolling the dough. There were lots of busy little hands and so much concentration as they worked with the mixture, and they couldn’t wait to get them into the oven.

And the verdict… YUM YUM! They were delicious! 😋

There were lots of requests for Fireman Sam today 🚒, so afterwards we headed into the garden and got all of our Fireman Sam toys out. I love following the children’s interests and seeing where their play takes them.

We then moved onto some bead threading and made our very own bracelets. 📿 The children carefully chose their beads and threaded them on, creating something completely unique to them. They were SO proud of their creations and wanted to keep them on for the rest of the day! 🥰 We did, however, put them somewhere safe at nap time. 😴

After a well-earned rest, our busy hands were back to work as we made homemade flatbread pizzas ready for supper. 🍕

Together we mixed the ingredients before getting our hands in to knead, squish, squeeze and work the dough. Once we’d rolled our pizza bases out, the children added their sauce and chose their own toppings before they went into the oven.

There was such a lovely sense of achievement when they sat down for supper knowing they had made their own pizzas themselves. 💛🍕

Without even realising it, today was packed with learning—measuring and mixing, strengthening little hands through kneading and rolling, developing fine motor skills through threading, making independent choices, following their own interests and, most importantly, feeling proud of what they had achieved.

Because a day at home can be every bit as exciting as a day out! 🏡💛

🦁 Wednesday Adventures at Whipsnade Zoo 🦁

Wednesday’s trip took us to Whipsnade Zoo, and WOW—what an amazing day we had! 🤩

We enjoyed a wonderful day exploring the zoo, seeing beautiful animals and taking in the stunning views. The children were fascinated by everything around them and loved discovering so many different animals throughout our visit. 🐾

We also enjoyed a lovely train ride around the zoo, which gave us the chance to see even more animals and enjoy the scenery from a different perspective. 🚂 The children were so excited as we travelled around, pointing out the animals and sharing what they could see.

After our train ride, we stopped to enjoy our picnic lunch before having a run around with the wooden sculpture animals. 🧺 The children had lots of fun climbing, moving and exploring, using their imaginations as they played together.

Before we knew it, it was time to head home. We settled down in the car and made our way back after a truly magical day.

The children had the most amazing time at Whipsnade Zoo, creating wonderful memories, enjoying new experiences and learning all about the beautiful animals around them. 💛

Another fantastic day filled with adventure, discovery and plenty of smiles! 🦁🐘🌳

🌳 Tuesday Adventures at Hatfield Forest 🌳

Tuesday’s adventure took us back to the beautiful Hatfield Forest and, once again, it certainly didn’t disappoint! 🤩

This visit was made even more special because, with the weather being a little cooler, Belle was able to join us too! 🐾 The children were super excited to have her along for our adventure.

We enjoyed a lovely walk around the lake, heading into the woods and making our way around to visit the ducks. 🦆 They were certainly pleased to see us and thoroughly enjoyed their little feast of duck food! The children loved watching them come over and seeing all the different ducks together.

We continued our walk back towards the picnic area, where it was time to burn off some energy! ⚽ We played football and then got our rocket out… and WOW, this brought so much laughter! 🚀

The children ran as fast as they could, trying to catch the rocket before it landed on the ground. There was lots of running, chasing, reaching, giggling and, of course, shouting “AGAIN!” 😂

After all that movement, we were definitely ready for our picnic lunch. 🧺 We sat together and enjoyed our food before squeezing in even more football and play before heading home.

The children had such a wonderful time and enjoyed so much physical movement throughout the day—walking, running, kicking, reaching and chasing, all while developing their coordination, confidence and gross motor skills without even realising they were learning. 💛

Another beautiful day spent outdoors, exploring nature, moving our bodies and making memories together. 🌳🐾💚
