We discussed the kinds of ideas to compare, quick wins to look for in the exam and how best to write up our findings with confidence.

This week at Get the Grade Tuition, our GCSE English students are sharpening a crucial exam skill — AO2

We’re focusing on HOW writers use language and structure to influence readers. From analysing powerful word choices to breaking down sentence forms and structural techniques, students are learning how to go beyond what happens in a text and really explore how it creates meaning and impact.

This is a key area for boosting grades, and it’s great to see students building confidence in their analysis each session 💪📚

This week, Get The Grade Tuition is focusing on comparing unseen poems.

We’ve been working on how to approach two poems with confidence — spotting similarities and differences, analysing language and structure, and building clear, comparative responses.

It’s all about developing a method students can rely on in the exam, even when the poems are completely new.

Our Services

At Get the Grade GCSE English Tuition, our mission is to provide high-quality online tutoring to students either in small groups or 1:1.

Working in small groups allows learners to build on and develop ideas collaboratively (for those extra marks in the exam!) whilst also receiving personalised support and feedback.

1:1 sessions are also available and better suited to learners who are confident in their ideas but need support to refine their exam skills to achieve maximum marks.

We can provide the support and advice you need to achieve in your exams, whichever style of tutoring suits you best.

Prices
Small group sessions (up to 3 students): Pay as you go £30 per hour or £25 when purchased in a block of 6.

1:1 sessions: £40 per hour.
