Today, we had a visit from the gorgeous Lady, a Spinger Spaniel. The children absolutely loved meeting her and hearing all about Lady and what she does. We found out that Lady LOVES cheese so we each gave her some as a treat.

We all got to stroke Lady, she was so soft (she'd had a bath specially for her visit)

A massive thank you to Olivia for bringing Lady to see us. We had a great time.

As the children have started coming back to nursery after the summer holidays, we thought it would be great timing to update our display boards.

The theme? Self portraits!

Each child had their face cut out and they stuck it onto the paper. They then looked at themselves in the mirrors.
Staff discussed what other body parts they could see in the mirror.

The children then drew their arms, legs and bellys.. all independently!

These will be proudly displayed on our display boards soon! Watch this space!

What we’re looking for:
• A Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare to work all year round

• A warm, caring, and positive attitude

• A team player with great communication skills

• Someone who sees the world through a child’s eyes and joins in their wonder

• A sense of humour and a willingness to be a dinosaur, a doctor, or a tea party guest – often before 9am!

🌳 Childhood is meant to be spent exploring, climbing, running, imagining and discovering.

Our lovely large outdoor area gives children the space to burn off energy, build confidence and enjoy the simple pleasure of being outdoors, whatever the season. Some of the happiest moments of the day happen outside.

We made the most of the rainy day at Allsorts.🌧️☔️

We talked about what happens when it rains and used a sponge and some water to do a demonstration, lots of giggles were had as we got our hands wet.

A tuff tray was set up so that we could use our hands to explore the different textures. We had cotton wool and marshmallow clouds 🌨️, glitter lightning ⚡ and slimy puddles! Some of us even took our socks off and explored with our feet!

We put on wellies and waterproofs and headed out into the garden.
We jumped in puddles, watching the water spray everywhere!
We practiced our fine motor skills to pour water from one container to another.
A potion was made using natural resources from our garden which we really enjoyed mixing together.

To end a fun day, we painted some rainy day pictures. We mixed some colours together to make different shades of grey, blue and white!

🌟 Employee of the Month 🌟

This month, our Employee of the Month is Charlotte! 🎉

Charlotte has shown so much hard work, dedication and commitment while training for her new role as Deputy Manager, and she is absolutely smashing it! We are incredibly proud of how confidently she has stepped into her new role and everything she has achieved so far.

Charlotte comes into nursery each day with the biggest smile and such a positive attitude. You will often find her singing and dancing with the children, which they absolutely adore! Her enthusiasm, energy and dedication really shine through each day.

Charlotte’s hard work has certainly not gone unnoticed, and we are so proud of how far she has come. Well done, Charlotte — you truly deserve it! 👏🏼💗

📢 Bank Holiday Reminder! 📢

Just a little reminder to our lovely parents that the nursery will be closed on Monday 31st August for the Bank Holiday.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday 1st September, when funding will also restart for the new term.

📚 National Read a Book Day 📚

National Read a Book Day is coming up, and we’re excited to celebrate at nursery! ❤️

We’ll be exploring a variety of our favourite stories and books, with lots of exciting activities, creative experiences and even some fun baking inspired by the stories we read. 🧁📖

To make the day extra special, we’d love for your child to bring along their favourite book from home on Monday 7th September. They’ll have the opportunity to share their book with their friends and enjoy a special story time together.
