For the next few weeks, our Silver Swans classes will be following the Barre and Centre work from the Royal Academy of Dance Silver Swans resource. 🦢

Specially designed for older learners, Silver Swans® classes support mobility, posture, coordination and energy levels — all while enjoying the joy and artistry of ballet. Research continues to show the positive impact dance can have on health, wellbeing and quality of life.

Whether you’re returning to ballet or trying it for the very first time, classes are designed to be safe, inclusive and enjoyable for all abilities.

🦢 What a wonderful story and a lovely reminder of the impact Silver Swans classes have on people’s lives.

I loved reading how a group of first-year film students captured the spirit, friendship and inclusivity of these classes. It shows that Silver Swans is about so much more than ballet – it’s about community, confidence, movement and joy at every age.

A huge well done to Sonia and her dancers for helping showcase what makes Silver Swans so special. 💙

🦢 What an inspiring achievement!

Congratulations to Lily Turner Smith and LTS School of Dance on celebrating their 3rd anniversary and being featured on both BBC Look East and BBC Breakfast. 🎉

It’s wonderful to see Silver Swans gaining such positive recognition and reaching so many people who may never have thought ballet was for them. With 120 dancers attending classes each week, many of whom had never danced before, Lily’s story is a fantastic example of how dance can improve confidence, wellbeing and bring communities together.

Stories like this help spread the message that it’s never too late to start dancing. 💙

🩰 New Silver Swans Class Starting This Thursday! 🩰

This is the perfect time to join Silver Swans with Kim.

Have you never danced before but always wanted to? This could be your sign! Your first class is completely FREE.

Perhaps you danced when you were younger and are now looking for a way to keep moving while respecting that you’re not quite a spring chicken anymore. Silver Swans is specially designed for older adults and is a wonderful way to stay active, improve mobility, and enjoy the many benefits of ballet in a supportive and friendly environment.

✨ Improve balance, posture, memory and circulation
✨ Keep your joints moving and muscles strong
✨ Meet like-minded people and enjoy a real sense of community
✨ Most importantly – have fun!

Each class includes:
🦢 A gentle warm-up to wake everything up
🦢 Traditional ballet barre exercises
🦢 Centre practice
🦢 A little choreography just for fun

This term we’re dancing to Romeo and Juliet’s “Dance of the Knights” (yes, the Apprentice theme tune! 😉).

We finish with a gentle cool-down, and I promise you’ll leave feeling uplifted in both body and spirit.
