A huge congratulations to all year 6's who have completed their SATs tests this week. You have worked so hard and we couldn't be prouder of you all. Although this week has mostly been about the tests, we also enjoyed a game of rounders while the sun was out (briefly), some time in the forest school with Mrs Chapman and we all cheered to see the year 6's receive their leavers hoodies in Star of the Week assembly today.

This week, our year 5 pupils had their residential trip to The Briars. We couldn't be prouder of how well they handled all of the challenges, including being away from home. You were all fantastic.
We also took part in the cheerleading event at New Mills School, which was brilliant! We would like to wish all year 6's who are taking their SATs next week the very best of luck. You make us proud every day.

We've had a great week this week, the sun has been shining and the children have loved having more time outside. Class 4 spent some time in the forest school area as part of their research into different ecosystems. We are hoping that this nice weather will continue for our year 5 residential to The Briars next week. Have a lovely long weekend, everyone.

What a beautiful, sunny week we have had! Well done to the year 1 pupils in class 2, who attended the Strike and Field event on
Wednesday at The Pavilion. Staff from High School remarked on your excellent manners andyour sportsmanship on the day. You made us very proud with your excellent behaviour, so well
done to you all.

Thank you to everyone who came in their football kit today to help us raise money for New Mills Juniors FC. We will let you know how much we raised when it has all been counted up. We really appreciate the support that our families show to fundraising efforts like these.

Star of the week this week was awarded to those children who are willing to try new things.

Have a lovely weekend, everyone.

We had a lovely first week of term. We competed in the Cyclocross event on Wednesday, our Faith in Action group starting working towards their next certificate, our infants started their topic of 'The Great Fire of London' and today we had our PTA's, 'what do you want to be?' dress up day! The range of costumes was amazing, from vets to pilots, super heroes and princesses! What a lovely way to end our week.

What a lovely last week before the Easter break we have had. Year six went on a Lenten walk with staff and parishioners on Monday. We had our parents and carers consultation sessions this week, as well as a visit from PCSO Buller, who kindly came to talk to us about the dangers of carrying knives. We also said a very emotional goodbye to Mrs Smith, who leaves us today to join the NHS. We wish her all the luck and love in the world, you will shine at everything you do, Mrs Smith. 🥲
