🌊 Swim Teacher Wanted – Summer Role (June–August) 🌊
📍 Hersham, Surrey | Private Nursery Pool

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Swim Teacher to join our team this summer at our beautiful nursery setting in Hersham.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with young children in a warm, supportive environment, delivering fun and engaging swimming sessions in our private on-site pool.

🧸 About the Role:
-Teaching children aged 3 months to 5 years
-Delivering safe, structured and engaging swim sessions
-Supporting water confidence and early swimming skills
-Working alongside our nursery team to ensure a positive experience for all children
✅ Requirements:
-Proven experience teaching swimming to babies and young children
-Relevant swim teaching qualification (e.g. STA, ASA or equivalent)
-A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
-References covering the past 5 years
-Self-employed status
-Appropriate Public Liability Insurance
-Strong understanding of water safety and safeguarding
-Confident, patient and engaging personality
-Availability across June, July and August (full contract period)

A huge thank you to Laco, who has been working so hard behind the scenes to transform this space – and we absolutely love the result! 👏

This cosy corner has been created with you in mind…

🛋️ Sit, relax and feel at home
💬 A welcoming space for new and visiting families to meet with us and have those important chats

We know nursery drop-offs, pick-ups and visits can sometimes feel rushed… so we wanted to create a calm, comfortable space where you can pause, chat and feel part of our Lilliput community 🌿

Whether it’s a quick coffee or a longer catch-up, our door (and kettle ☕😉) is always open!

🌿✨ Our Eco Garden Has Officially Begun! ✨🌿

We are SO excited to finally share the start of our Lilliput Eco Garden… and just look at it already! 😍🌱

From planters to patches, herbs to veggies – this is something really special for our children 💚

So far we have:
🥕 Around 20 different fruits and vegetables growing
🌿 A beautiful herb garden (sage, mint, oregano & lavender 🌸)
🥔 Our very own potato patch
🥬 Dedicated areas for carrots, cabbages, leeks and more!
🍂 A compost bin to recycle our natural waste
💧 A water butt so we can use rainwater to care for our garden

And the best part… our children will be involved every step of the way 💛
From planting and watering to weeding and maintaining, they’ll be learning all about sustainability, responsibility and where our food comes from 🌍

👩‍🍳 We cannot WAIT to use our homegrown produce in the kitchen… garden to plate at its finest!

🐔 Special shoutout to our resident chickens…
who have already taken a very keen interest in the garden 🙃
They’ve attempted multiple dust baths in the mud and have been politely (and repeatedly 😂) removed from the cabbage section… safe to say, this may be a team effort!

We’ll be sharing lots of updates as everything grows…

🌱 Little Hands, Big Impact 🌱

Our Tulips room have been getting stuck into some planting this week as part of our eco-learning 🌻

The children explored soil, seeds and the life cycle of a plant, getting hands-on with planting and learning all about how things grow. From scooping and pouring to chatting about what plants need to survive, it was a lovely mix of messy play, learning and curiosity 💚

At Lilliput, we are passionate about helping our children understand:
🌿 Where food comes from
🌿 How to care for living things
🌿 The importance of looking after our environment

And let’s be honest… what better way to learn than getting a little bit muddy 😄

We can’t wait to watch everything grow! 🌱✨

🌱 We Need Your Help, Hersham! 🌱

At Lilliput Children’s Centre, we are currently working towards achieving our Eco-Schools Award, and we are so excited to involve not just our families… but our whole community 💚

Our children have been busy learning all about caring for the environment, from planting and growing 🌻, to feeding our chickens 🐔 with leftover food, to exploring how we can reduce waste and reuse materials in our everyday play ♻️

🌼 A Little Mother’s Day Treat at Lilliput 🌼

This morning we welcomed our wonderful mums (and a few lovely dads too!) in a little early surprise for a Mother’s Day coffee morning ☕🥐

There were croissants, biscuits, tea and coffee waiting in the corridor for parents to enjoy before starting their busy day, along with a little bunch of daffodils to take home as a small thank you from us.

Alexa was even playing all the songs about mums as families arrived which created such a lovely atmosphere to start the morning 💛

It was so nice to see parents stopping for a chat, grabbing a coffee and sharing a little moment together before the day began.

A big thank you to Raluca, Kim and Viv for helping organise everything and setting it all up so beautifully this morning 🌼

And of course, Happy Mother’s Day to all of our wonderful mums, step-mums, grandmas and mother figures in our Lilliput family 💛

Due to continued growth, we are looking to welcome Level 3 qualified Early Years Practitioners, unqualified staff, and those looking to train towards their Level 3 to join our friendly, supportive team.

✨ What we’re looking for:
• A genuine love for working with children
• A positive, caring and reliable attitude
• Team players who want to grow and develop within Early Years
• Level 3 qualification (desirable but not essential)

✨ Daisies’ Den – a transformation we are incredibly proud of ✨

What started as a tired, stripped-back Pre-School room has been completely transformed into our beautiful new 🌼 Daisies’ Den 🌼 and we couldn’t be prouder of the result.

This renovation involved far more than a lick of paint. Walls were taken back to brick, repairs made, floors lifted and replaced, and hours upon hours of preparation went in behind the scenes. Laco truly worked his fingers to the bone, supported by an incredible team who stayed late into the evenings painting, fixing and pulling everything together long after the children had gone home.

Fast forward to now… and wow 🤍
Daisies’ Den is a calm, warm and thoughtfully designed space, filled with natural tones, cosy corners, open-ended resources and carefully planned areas that invite curiosity, imagination and independence. From our welcoming home corner to our beautiful reading tree and creative play spaces, every detail has been created with the children at the heart of it.

This room is more than just a makeover, it’s a reflection of our values, our teamwork and our commitment to giving children the very best environment to learn, play and grow in.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring this vision to life. We cannot wait to see the children make memories in their new space 💛
