🌟 OPAL Gold Award Success! 🌟

We are thrilled to announce that Thornden Wood has been awarded the OPAL Gold Award following our recent accreditation assessment! 🏆✨

This fantastic achievement reflects our commitment to providing children with rich, exciting, and meaningful play opportunities every day. Seeing our pupils enjoying such positive and varied play experiences makes us incredibly proud.

A huge congratulations and thank you to Sarah Wilson and our OPAL Play Leaders, whose dedication, enthusiasm, and hard work have been instrumental in making this success possible. 💛

This award belongs to our whole school community, and we're excited about what comes next. Next year, we'll continue to build on this success, creating even more opportunities for children to learn, grow, and thrive through play.

🍃 Look out for our OPAL Bingo Cards over the summer holidays! We encourage families to get involved by helping children find as many of the bingo items as possible. There’s an extra incentive too – the class (or classes) with the most completed bingo cards in September will win a special prize! 🎉🏅

📍 Maple Class Visit to Thanet and District Reform Synagogue ✨

On Monday, Maple Class visited Thanet and District Reform Synagogue and had a brilliant time!

The children were extremely respectful, curious and exceptionally well behaved throughout the visit. We learnt an incredible amount from Rabbi Cliff, who was patient, kind and incredibly knowledgeable, helping us to gain a deeper understanding of Jewish traditions and beliefs.

During our visit, we had the opportunity to try on kippahs and prayer shawls (tallitot), explore the synagogue, and even see a 200-year-old Torah, which was a real highlight for everyone.

A huge thank you to Rabbi Cliff and everyone at Thanet and District Reform Synagogue for making us feel so welcome and providing such a memorable learning experience.

🏅 Sports Day Success! 🏅

What a fantastic Sports Day it was! A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support the children and took part in the parent races. The children absolutely loved cheering on their families and watching their teachers join in the fun on the track!

A special thank you to for helping to keep our children refreshed throughout the day with bottled water and delicious fruit.

We would also like to thank Friends of Thornden Wood Primary School for organising the wonderful cream tea and providing refreshments for parents to purchase.

Thank you all for helping to make the day such a memorable and enjoyable event for everyone involved. 🌟
