Today was a pretty special day. ❤️📚

With it being GCSE results day, we expected to see lots of excited (and probably slightly relieved!) faces around town.

What we didn’t expect was to have around 20 young people pop into the shop throughout the day simply to say thank you. 🥹

They told us that all those hours reading manga had helped them with their English, with reading, vocabulary, understanding stories and ultimately with their exams.

And they wanted to come back and tell us and show us.

How amazing is that. And they probably won’t see this post as they are young and probably not on Facebook. 😉

However we always say that reading is reading.

It doesn’t have to be a huge novel.
It doesn’t have to be a classic.
It doesn’t have to be the book somebody else thinks you should be reading.

If manga is what makes you want to pick up a book and keep turning those pages, then read manga. 🌟

But most importantly…

YOU did the work. YOU sat those exams. And YOU earned those results.

So to every single one of you who popped in today, thank you. It was incredibly kind of you to come and see us, and we are so pleased that our little bookshop could play even the tiniest part in your journey.
