Elevate Business Community really is all about the community & support.
Some great conversations all about local businesses supporting each other.

Whilst I’m unable to be as physically active as I’d like or what I’m used to, making friends who are supportive, giving guidance towards my future & the future of Sue Pugh Performance
has been wonderful welcome addition. Such valuable conversations & support.
Thank you ☺️

Coaching is more than just writing a plan & giving to the athlete.
You must take into account all aspects of their life, work, commitments & the simple wants & desires. So when your athlete is part of UK ISAR deploying at 6hours notice it’s imperative that you listen & adjust there plan accordingly.

They can’t just jump straight back into the ‘original’ plan when they return.
Coaches must work with the athlete, adjusting & planning their return to training in order to achieve their goals.
If you’re looking for a coach, make sure they listen to you, how your life can affect your training.
It’s not just writing a plan.

I couldn’t be prouder of the young athletes I have the pleasure of working with 🤩

They continue to show up, work hard & most of all enjoy what they are doing.
By providing a nurturing, supportive, safe & welcoming environment they have grown exponentially with their running & performances.

The County Championships race was held on a tough, wet miserable day hosted by Bromsgrove School.
Four young athletes qualified to race at this level which is a huge achievement in itself & shouldn’t be discounted.

Every athlete raced with full commitment & determination which is all that can ever be asked of anyone, with fantastic performances from all.

I’m so very proud of each & everyone. Coaching is rewarding but coaching children is something else ☺️

Great news with research showing a 12% increase in female gym activity since last year. It’s going the right direction, but still more work to do….👏

New research by Sport England shows a 12% increase in women taking part in gym activities since last year🔥

A rise was also seen amongst young people and residents living in the most deprived areas of England.

Why is this so important?

💡 It can transform girls' mental health - at a time when young women's anxiety is spiralling upwards, exercise is a vital part of countering this worrying trend

🙌 By venturing into the weights section - many of whom for the first time - young women are breaking the stereotype that to be feminine is to be small; they're taking up space unapologetically, just as the incredible Red Roses did this summer

🦴 Young women know what weight-bearing exercises can do for their future health - reducing the likelihood of developing conditions like osteoporosis which disproportionately affects women

The Chief Medical Officer recommends 2 strength training sessions per week, defined as an activity in which muscles feel some tension, shake or feel warm.

It's brilliant to see women, and young women in particular, prioritising their future health and not shying away from taking up space in a world that continues to make them feel small.
