Jaguar class enjoyed an incredible boxing coaching session with Mr McKenzie from the South Wye Police Boxing Academy today. He came to deliver sessions to every class in the whole school today.

All of the children really enjoyed it as you can see from the pictures. We have some future boxing stars in our class.

Mrs. C was very proud. 🤩

Jaguar Class are continuing their Light Theory topic in Science.
We have carried out an experiment today to see if the distance of a light source to a surface, alters the size of the shadows created by an object in between.
Using puppet heads the children made, we measured 5 different distances.
The findings surprised lots of the children as this was different to their predictions. 🔦 👤

As part of No Pens Day, Panther class enjoyed a fun, hands-on day of learning linked to our class text The Boy Who Biked the World! 🚴‍♂️

In writing, we explored prepositions using bike equipment and task cards, while in maths we recapped telling the time by becoming a human clock and chanting the 5-minute intervals around the clock. ⏰

We also loved welcoming Mr Willis, who taught us all about bikes and showed us how to change a tyre, just like Tom would have had to on his adventures!

NO PENS DAY

Over the last few weeks, the children have been learning a poem to read by heart in front of their class. The adults and children in the class then voted for the best performance.

Today the winners of each class stood on the stage and performed the poetry in front of the whole school. WOW!! Their performances were amazing. Such clear and confident voices were used. Mrs Willis was our guest judge, and she chose a Child from the downstairs classrooms and the upstairs classrooms.

Well done to everyone you really pushed yourselves outside of your comfort Zones!

PUNCTUALITY

Did you know that being frequently late for school adds up to lost learning time?

🕰️Arriving 5 minutes late every day adds up to over 3 days lost each year.
🕰️Arriving 15 minutes late every day is the same as being absent for 2 weeks a year.
🕰️Arriving 30 minutes late every day is the same as being absent for 19 days a year.

Being on time is a good thing:
🕰️It gets the day off to a good start with everyone in a positive frame of mind.
🕰️It helps your child make the most of their learning and sets positive patterns for the future.
🕰️It helps children develop a sense of responsibility both for themselves and for others
🕰️It helps your child make and keep friends.
🕰️It improves self-confidence.

If you are having problems with getting your child to school on time, please do contact us and let us see if we can help you. Please email the office or let your class teacher know.
