Welcome to Sing4Yourself - my page for all things to do with singing tuition.
I'm Roger Langford, a classically trained singer who has helped people improve their singing and increase confidence and self-belief in what they do for nearly 25 years.
I teach all styles of music, and concentrate on working with adult students from 18 - 80+. I teach at home in Hereford, at student's homes if appropriate, or online via Zoom.
I work to find what is best for the improvement of each person's voice, and use my knowledge of technique to give them the tools that give them a sense of control over what they do vocally. I believe strongly in encouraging the person in front of me, so that they really believe they are making progress.
My rates are £35/hour or part thereof. Message me to discuss booking an initial session or to talk further about what it is you are looking for.

I have been teaching online for nearly a year now, and believe I have honed my skills to this new but necessary approach (at least for the mean time).

Although it is not the same as teaching in the same space, I think there are a few advantages in this method. Students are working in their own space, which gives them a greater sense of security. Also I can gain insights into what environment my students practice in between lessons, and how they approach the work. This can enable me to give more pertinent tips as to how they can get more out of the whole process.
But my methodology remains the same. Simply put, that the student finishes the lesson knowing that they have made progress and that they are able to make some more before the next one.

I believe in enabling people to find and then use their voices to sing for themselves, either on their own, or with any form of group, choral or otherwise. By doing so, people can grow their self-confidence and achieve a real sense of fulfillment.
I have been teaching singing for nearly 25 years, and have been learning how to sing for over 50! I have sung professionally for over 35 years, training as an opera singer at The Royal Academy of Music.
I believe in giving singers a thorough grounding in technique, that is appropriate to any genre of music, in a way that THEY UNDERSTAND and CAN USE. I teach to people's vocal and musical needs, not my wants.
I am as happy to help students with pop songs as with classical repertoire, having a very catholic taste in music myself. A song is a song is a song - it is either good or bad, and you either like it or you don't.🙂
