Providing all hairdressing services from Urban Rose in Hillingdon, after winning multiple awards and being part of the British Hairdressing Fellowships Colour Project Becky now works 1:1 on clients with a passion for making women feel more confident and like themselves again.

Jen wanted to create more pops of blonde with a darker base but make it ash! ⠀

The condition of the hair wasn’t great and wouldn’t allow a lot of bleaching so we took the base darker and added foils around the hairline front and back and used extensions to add the pops of colour throughout. ⠀

Both are the after shots on the same head of hair taken a few minutes apart ⠀

I often get asked what balayage looks like straight which is how most clients style their hair day to day so here is the difference. ⠀
⠀
Straight hair ⠀
You see less dimension but the softer blend it will feel lighter as what you’re really seeing is just the top layer of the hair. ⠀
⠀
Wavy hair ⠀
Creates move movement and volume allowing dimension from different areas of the head to be seen so colour looks more ribboned and the classic balayage instagram feel. ⠀

When I balayage my goal is to create a natural (regardless of the brightness/ vividness used) blend like you’ve spent the summer in Australia beach bumming lightest areas being around the hairline and the ends through the top and regardless of how you style it will remain seamless ⠀

We love a face frame but it’s important that it still emulates the rest of the colour while being slightly brighter if your creating a minimal sun kissed look then I like to create a softly rooted face frame that flows into the rest of the hair. ⠀
