🌟OPEN CUPS🌟

The overall recommendation from the major healthcare organisations worldwide is to use open cups and free flow straws because they teach babies how to sip and swallow, which are advanced drinking skills and are learned. Sippy cups with spouts, and no spill cups and straws with valves can be used for a limited time at parental discretion, as babies transition from bottles and learn to drink from other containers. While they are convenient to use, they encourage the suck and swallow motion. These are innate skills that babies already know how to do. If you use them, it is important progress as soon as possible to open cups and free flow straws.

Natural environments encourage young explorers to touch, look, hear, smell and even taste (when safe) the world that they are a part of. Going barefoot can also enhance these sensory experiences.

Being outside, improves cognitive development, helps regulate emotions, boosts immunity, promotes sleep regulation, promotes secure attachments and can help children appreciate the world they live in.

⭐️Traveling abroad with your little ones? ✈️

⭐️TAKE YOUR OWN CAR SEAT. - this way you know the history of the car seat, putting you in control of the situation and your child’s safety.

❌HIRING CAR SEATS ABROAD - hire companies will sometimes provide a seat sometimes not (even when requested)!
The seats they do provide are often very old, forward facing (even for babies), cheap tat! Also often stored poorly.

✅Private transfers - yes more money but this is the only way you can guarantee that you will be able to use the seat you have brought with you - hassle free!

⭐️Airport -most UK airlines allow you to check in a car seat for free as well as a pushchair, on top of your allocated luggage.
⭐️You can purchase car seat travel bags, or just use the original box! Pad the bag or box with nappies/ towels / bubble wrap to protect your seat. ✅

❓Which seat to take?

⭐️👶🏼Babies under 13kg - their existing infant carrier or Joie Juva.

⭐️👧🏼Toddlers under 18kg / 105cm
Joie Stages/Steadi or the graco equivalent, (enhance or extend Lx) to be used rear facing.

⭐️Joie everystage R129 / graco slimfit R129 for toddlers OVER 18kg but UNDER 105cm. These seats have a 22kg limit.

⭐️👦🏻Older children - booster ready. AT LEAST 5.

⁉️REMEMBER. Just because you are on holiday, doesn’t mean an accident won’t happen.

Our little Ajay just had his 8 weeks vaccinations.

We played music (enya) half an hour before, during the vaccinations and after.

He cried for about 4 seconds. ♥️

Did you know how dangerous it is for children to be forward facing in the front seat?

⭐️Forward facing children in the rear seats in HIGH BACK boosters.

Air bags kill, dashboards kill.

🥶 CHANGING WEATHER 🥶

❄️ It’s getting chilly out there, this is your reminder that coats in cars are a big NO! ❌
❄️Even thin coats, rain coats, gilets, thick cardigans, hoodies, denim jackets etc.

We want a nice tight fit, and a blanket over the top, (over straps)✅
Wear coat backwards ✅

🚫DO NOT, add anything additional to your car seat. Such as car seat covers, blankets, black out covers.

Breastfed babies DO NOT need extra water in this heat. They may want feeding more often (breastmilk) but no extra water! Feed on demand.

❌Giving breastfed babies (6 months and under) extra water can be fatal and lead to water intoxication!
