Happy National Thank a Teacher Day! 🍎✨

Today we are celebrating and thanking all the incredible staff who make our school such a special place. From teachers and teaching assistants to office staff, site staff, lunchtime supervisors and everyone behind the scenes, your hard work, dedication and care make a difference to our children every day.

As a small token of our appreciation, we treated our wonderful team to some goodies today.

What a fantastic surprise to end the week! πŸŽ­πŸ΄β€β˜ οΈ

We were delighted to welcome M&M Theatrical Productions to Hammond Academy for an exciting performance of Treasure Island. The children were captivated from start to finish, enjoying the brilliant acting, high energy and wonderful atmosphere.

There were plenty of smiles, laughter and enthusiastic participation throughout the show, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved. A huge thank you to M&M Theatrical Productions for bringing such great energy and adventure to our school!

Our Year 6 pupils had a fantastic time at the University of Hertfordshire Festival of Outdoor Education on Thursday! 🌿πŸ”₯

The children took part in a wide range of exciting outdoor activities, including pond dipping, fire lighting, orienteering and creating art using natural materials. It was wonderful to see them so engaged with nature, showing enthusiasm, teamwork and curiosity throughout the day.

We were incredibly proud of their excellent behaviour and positive attitude, and we are already looking forward to more outdoor learning opportunities during Activities Week and the upcoming Isle of Wight trip! 🌳✨

What an amazing day we had celebrating Sir David Attenborough turning 100! πŸ¦πŸ’πŸ¦“
Thank you to everyone who took part in our non-uniform day and donated towards Whipsnade Zoo. We loved seeing all the fantastic animal costumes across the school!
A huge well done to the winners of our dress-up competition:
🐾 Upper KS2 – Sophie (Elm Class)
🐾 Lower KS2 – George (Cedar Class)
🐾 KS1 – Felicity (Acer Class)
🐾 EYFS – Lucianna (Cherry Class)
Together, we raised an incredible Β£122.55 for the zoo. Mrs Mullery recently visited Whipsnade Zoo to hand over the donation, and the team asked her to pass on a huge thank you to all of our families for your support and generosity.

We have had some amazing animal costumes in school today to celebrate David Attenborough turning 100! πŸΎπŸ¦πŸ¦“

A huge thank you to everyone for embracing this fantastic charity event and making such a wonderful effort with the costumes.

All proceeds raised will be going to Whipsnade Zoo to support the incredible work they do caring for and protecting animals. πŸ’š

A huge congratulations to members of Olive class, who visited University of Northampton this week to compete in the semi-final of a Taskmaster competition.

The girls worked brilliantly together, showing fantastic teamwork, creativity and determination throughout the event, and achieved an amazing 3rd place!

We are incredibly proud of their achievement, especially as they were selected after competing against schools from across the country. Well done girls! πŸ‘β­
