Land SETPD learners have been busy in the workshop, making a start on festive creations for future fayres. It has been a fantastic team effort, with everyone taking on different roles, from sawing wooden discs and tracing outlines onto sheet material to using the jigsaw and carefully sanding each piece. Work experience learners at Jarrow Hall Farm play an important role in caring for the animals, making sure they have fresh food and water across the site. The sheep were especially pleased to see them arriving with buckets full of feed, eagerly gathering round for their breakfast! 🐑🌾💧

Route2Work College is a specialist college for young people aged 16-24 with an EHCP.

We are inviting young people from Year 9 onwards, along with their parents and carers, to attend our upcoming Open Events and Taster Days and discover how we support learners to develop confidence, independence, employability skills and recognised qualifications for adult life.

Choosing the right post-16 pathway is an important step, and our Open Events are the perfect opportunity to explore what Route2Work has to offer.

At Route2Work, we support young people aged 16-25 with an EHCP to develop the skills, confidence and independence needed for adult life, further learning and employment.

Our Initial Taster Days give young people the opportunity to experience Route2Work College before making decisions about their post-16 education.

Based at The Eco Centre, you'll have the chance to:
✨ Meet current learners and staff
✨ Take part in fun, interactive activities
✨ Explore our college environment
✨ Find out what life is like at Route2Work

Open to young people from Year 9 onwards with an EHCP, these sessions are designed to help you discover whether Route2Work is the right fit for your future.

📌 We ask all prospective learners to attend both an Initial Taster Day and a Vocational Taster Day. The Initial Taster Day provides an introduction to college life, while the Vocational Taster Day allows you to explore the pathway areas that interest you most.

⭐ Discover where your interests could take you with a Route2Work Vocational Taster Day! ⭐

Following an Initial Taster Day, young people are invited to take part in one or more Vocational Taster Days to gain hands-on experience of our specialist pathway areas.

Choose from:
🐄 Animal Care
🌱 Land Based Studies
❤️ Health & Social Care
🛒 Customer Service

These focused sessions provide valuable insight into the practical activities, learning opportunities and skills involved in each pathway, helping you explore your interests and strengths. Attending both an Initial Taster Day and a Vocational Taster Day helps young people and families make informed decisions about whether Route2Work is the right next step and which pathway is the best fit.

📍 Animal Care sessions take place at Jarrow Hall.
📍 Land Based Studies, Health & Social Care and Customer Service sessions take place at The Eco Centre.

You are welcome to book onto more than one vocational session if you'd like to explore different pathways.
