❤️My journey with Spain continues...🇪🇸

🏨 British Airways Holidays
My career in the travel industry continued and I was privileged to work for one of the best UK your oeprators.
In 2019, I started working for BA Holidays and began working with Spanish hotel chains including Meliá, Iberostar and Barceló.

I later joined the destination team, where for three years I contracted hotels across Mainland Spain, the Balearics and the Canaries.

I was lucky enough to visit so many incredible places, stay in amazing hotels and experience so many different parts of Spain - and, of course, my Spanish continued to go from strength to strength!

👩🏼‍🏫 Spanish with Hannah
In 2020, I started Spanish with Hannah because I wanted to share my passion for the language with other people.

Since then, I’ve taught all ages and all levels - online, in person and in groups - and I absolutely love helping people discover the joy (and confidence!) that comes from speaking Spanish. ❤️

💍 And finally… Spain became even more special
In 2024, I married the love of my life, Tim. And there was only one place I wanted to get married…

Spain! 🇪🇸❤️

We got married at Oceano Beach Hotel in Cala de Mijas, right next to the beach - the perfect place to celebrate my love for Spain in another very special way.

Looking back, it’s funny to think that one Spanish lesson at school could lead to a university degree, a year living in Madrid, a career working with Spanish travel and hotels, and eventually my own Spanish teaching business.

Spain has been such a huge part of my life for so many years, and I feel incredibly lucky that I now get to share that passion with all of you. 🇪🇸✨

And this is only the beginning… ❤️

🇪🇸 My Favourite Places in Spain 🇪🇸

Spain holds so many special memories for me, and these are some of my favourite places:

🌳 Retiro Park, Madrid — When I lived in Madrid, I loved spending Sundays here. I would hire a little boat on the lake, then take my book to one of my favourite spots, relax and watch people enjoying the park. Such happy memories!

💍 Cala de mijas, Costa del Sol — This place is particularly special to me because the photo was taken on my wedding day in 2024, when I married my husband, Tim. ❤️ It’s a lovely little town on the Costa del Sol, with a relaxed feel, great food and wonderful restaurants.

🏰 Segovia — One of my favourite places to visit outside Madrid. There are so many beautiful towns that are easy to reach by bus or fast train with Renfe, and Segovia is definitely worth the trip. It has such a magical, fairytale atmosphere — and was even a filming location for Cinderella! ✨

🏛️ Plaza de España, Seville — I visited Seville with my sister Emma in 2023, and Plaza de España was one of my favourite spots. The incredible Andalusian architecture, Moorish influences, flamenco culture and little boats on the water make it such a beautiful and memorable place.

🌅 Santa Eulària, Ibiza — Watching sunsets is one of my favourite things to do, and Santa Eulària is one of the most beautiful places to experience one. Last year, I went on a yoga retreat here with Catherine, and every evening we watched the sunset together from this special spot. ✨

🌺 The Alhambra, Granada — One of Spain’s most famous places and somewhere that has been on my list of favourite Spanish destinations for years. The architecture, gardens and incredible history make it truly unforgettable.

🇪🇸 Spain has given me so many wonderful memories — from Sunday afternoons in Madrid to sunsets in Ibiza and, of course, one very special wedding day on the Costa del Sol. ❤️

Here we have Indi again! 💗🇪🇸

This time, she’s here to teach us about another GCSE topic — food! 🍽️🥪🍫

Indi has been learning some useful Spanish food vocabulary, including comida, pastel, salchicas and chocolate, and she even uses the phrase “Mi comida favorita es chocolate” to tell us about her favourite food! 🇪🇸✨

It’s so lovely to see Indi continuing to build her confidence and Spanish skills, one lesson at a time. 🥰

🇪🇸✨ THIS is why I love teaching Spanish!

My student has only had 10 weeks of lessons doing my holiday Spanish course, and look at her now! 🙌

She’s spent the summer in Spain, practising her Spanish loads and even confidently ordering food in Alcañiz — a town where you’re surrounded mainly by Spanish speakers. 🇪🇸

And the best part? She’s been told: “I thought you were Spanish!” 😭❤️

What an incredible achievement in such a short time. Hearing stories like this genuinely makes me SO proud. 🥹👏

My journey with Spain… ❤️

My love for Spain didn’t start with Spanish with Hannah… it started many years before that!

🇪🇸 School days
I started learning Spanish at school and was lucky enough to have a really inspirational teacher, Mrs Luco, who was from Chile. She sparked something in me that stayed with me long after I left school.

🎓 University of Nottingham
I went on to study Spanish at the University of Nottingham, alongside Portuguese as a beginner’s language.

✈️ A year abroad in Madrid
As part of my degree, I spent a year abroad living in Moncloa, Madrid, sharing a flat with two Spanish girls and working at the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

It was during those six months that my passion for Spain really began to grow. I completely immersed myself in the language, the culture and everyday Spanish life. 🇪🇸

🚐 A career in travel
After university, my first job was at the Caravan and Motorhome Club, working in the travel department with campsites across Europe.

For a couple of years, I went on to contract campsites across Spain - including one unforgettable trip where I drove alone from Barcelona all the way down to Andalucía! 🚗☀️

This is only the beginning of my story!

🌟 So proud of Jo Christie 🇪🇸

Jo has been in Spain for over six weeks this summer and her confidence in speaking Spanish has grown SO much! 🥰
