Today we’ve been working on plans & elevations.

This topic requires strong spatial skills so we made concrete examples with blocks!

By taking photos of the example we could then see how this could be represented as a 2D diagram.

Aim Pi Maths Tutoring we always look at ways to enable students to understand mathematical concepts rather than simply follow a rule or method.

Aim Pi Maths is different because we know that understanding is key to problem solving in maths.
‘Tricks’ or quick wins don’t work if you don’t understand why!

Showing how to solve a problem without true understanding leaves students struggling to replicate their knowledge on similar questions.

Aim Pi Maths often uses manipulatives for tricky problem solving so students are able to see the ‘why’ rather than simply following a set of instructions.

In this example we see how the ‘bags’ represented x (an unknown).

It was lovely to see this student ‘get it’ when we physically moved the blocks! They were then able to apply this knowledge to other similar questions.

Suitable for students sitting Higher Tier GCSE Maths who are aiming for a grade 7 or above.

What will your cover?
Our next sessions are on Trigonometry (Sine Rule & Cosine Rule), Histograms, Conditional Probability & Rearranging Formula. You’ll also look at ‘tricky’ problem solving questions to apply these skills to exam style questions.

Looking for maths tuition?

We still have some places available in our small group sessions!

This is a great way to access specialist maths tuition in a small group setting (max 5 students).

All sessions are planned to target key GCSE maths topics & delivered by a qualified maths teacher (QTS) & UK examiner with over 20 years experience.

Last year Aim Pi Maths Tutoring our students, on average, increased their year 10 results by 2 grades!

Attending our weekly lessons now prevents the ‘panic’ closer to exams. Our lessons enable students to master key topics now leaving plenty of time for revision & practise in the weeks before the exams.

Our Fundraising Kit has Arrived!

We can’t wait to raise funds for a charity that’s very close to my heart 💕

From 19th to 23rd October we’ll be embracing the ‘Think Pink’ theme in lessons all week & asking students to wear something pink to lessons.

We’ll also be selling a range of PINK pens, pencils, maths kits & snacks to raise funds for this worthy cause.

Aim Pi Maths Tutoring do 45min 1 to 1 online lessons!

These are great for those students who just need a little bit of support with tricky topics but are happy to self study after the lesson.

Last week we worked on factorising quadratics & this student did a great job applying this knowledge to simplifying algebraic fractions tonight!

At Aim Pi all our lessons are individually planned to give the extra support that works for them & can cover the topics they are studying in school.

This student said they’d ‘kind of got it’ in class but after a 1 to 1 session we identified any misconceptions & then gave extra practise. The result…….they absolutely smashed it!

‘Cal’s Creative Workshop’
due to it’s success we have decided to continue with regular classes each week.

Suitable for ages 10 to 17 our workshops are small group sessions where you can choose from a wide range of creative crafts, aromatherapy & mindfulness.
