❤️ Hello September ❤️
September feels like a fresh start, whatever stage of life we’re in, with the end of the long, summer days and the beginning of the ‘ber’ months and the all the cosy changes they, and the arrival of autumn, bring.
It’s seen as a month of change, and perhaps that’s an ingrained feeling from our own childhood of the new school year starting.
Some of you may, like me, be embarking upon a new school year with your own children now. For three years I’ve proudly sent Teddy into school. This year he’ll also be joined by Rupert, so this September feels a bit more significant than others for me.
It’s the start of a new chapter in our lives, a change that, when I was holding those tiny summer born babies in my arms, seemed a lifetime away. Now, all too quickly, my babies are grown and somehow I’m grown up enough to have two children at school?!
It’s a bittersweet moment. I’m proud beyond measure of them, and I’m more sad than I can say.
Change comes all too quickly. Time flies and it’s so true that the days are long but the years are short.
There’s so much joy to be found in each of the wonderfully chaotic and imperfect chapters of childhood though and each new one brings a new memory to cherish, something else to be proud of and even more love.
So this September, wherever you are on your parenthood journey, whatever stage of childhood your little ones are in, hug them, soak in where they are right now and know that the inevitable changes that will come, bring their own, special magic ✨
