We’re delighted to share some wonderful news from our school community. One of our Year 1 pupils has been chosen as a winner in the Diocese Net Zero Competition!

Children were invited to imagine and illustrate what a Net Zero School of the future might look like, and Amy's thoughtful, creative design really shone.

As a winner, Amy's artwork will appear in the 2026 Net Zero Schools Calendar. She will also receive a £50 gift voucher, and the school has been awarded a £1,000 prize to support new net‑zero initiatives that will benefit everyone.

We’re so proud of this fantastic achievement and the inspiration it brings to our whole school as we continue working towards a greener future together. Well done Amy!

On Wednesday, some of our School Council members had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Haslemere Foodbank. We were warmly welcomed by Jo, who shared how the foodbank supports families in our local community and why this work matters.

The children rolled up their sleeves and joined the volunteers in sorting donations. They put their Maths skills to good use by organising items by expiry date, helping to make sure every donation can be used.

We’re incredibly proud of how thoughtfully and enthusiastically the children represented our school. It was also a valuable chance for them to see exactly where our Harvest donations go and how they make a real difference to local families. A meaningful experience for everyone involved and we hope to go back again next term!

Guildford Cathedral Christmas Art Exhibition 2025 'Joy to the World!'

Every year, schools from across the Diocese are invited to take part in the Christmas Art Exhibition at Guildford Cathedral. This is based on a specific Bible verse, with this year's being, ‘Don’t be afraid, because I am bringing you some good news. It will be a joy to all the people.' Luke 2:10.

Reception and Key Stage 1 pupils created three different types of angels that were then suspended from a branch. We chose angels because they brought a joyful message to the world that Mary was going to have a baby, the New King!

Children in Key Stage 2 explored the many different ways that Jesus brings joy to the world, recording their ideas onto a globe.

If you would like to see these wonderful pieces of artwork with your child and family members over the festive period, it is FREE entry into the Cathedral and they are on display until early January.

Over the last few weeks, children have been busy crafting wreaths and prayers to adorn the windows of Charter Walk in Haslemere! The display looks wonderful and very festive so please do pop down to admire our efforts!

Thank you to all that came to the 2025 Grayswood school pop-up restaurant!

Hi everyone,

I just want to say thank you so much to everyone who supported this year's pop-up restaurant. To all the parents who bought tickets and raffles - it raises valuable funds for the school, so thank you.

It takes quite a few people behind the scenes, so to those that made it happen;

Dan Britten - thank you for cooking the amazing food. I ate more than my share in the kitchen! Once again, you surpassed yourself.

Anna Rolfe - Thank you for arranging the tables. They were beautiful and a big part of what makes the night so special.

Children and staff paid their respects this morning with a two minute silence for Armistice Day.

Last week saw the launch of our new after-school Chess Club.

Run by a very kind parent volunteer, the club has proved to be one of the most popular we have ever held, with children attending from all classes throughout the school.

The children will be following a six-week plan, and look forward to many exciting matches in the coming weeks!

Guildford Cathedral Leavers' Service 2025! Our Year 6 Kites spent the morning reflecting on their time at primary school; celebrating all they have achieved, thinking about special events they have enjoyed and giving thanks to all those who have supported them on their journey. They also thought about the upcoming transition to secondary school and the exciting new adventures which await them.

Yesterday morning, we took a team of Year 1 and 2 children to compete in the KS1 confederation sports event. Our children participated in a variety of different events with enthusiasm, demonstrating great teamwork and perseverance- well done Team Grayswood!

What a fantastic morning we had at Sports Day today! The sun was shining, the children were smiling and memories were made! Well done to everyone for showing excellent sportsmanship and giving your all, we are so proud of you. The final results were very close this year, but congratulations go to Darwin who scored an impressive 1183 points and took home the trophy!

On Wednesday, our Year 6 Ambassadors visited Redcot Residential Care Home in Haslemere for an afternoon of games! There was a real buzz of conversation as the residents got to grips with the rules of the games and the children listened to stories of their life adventures. A wonderful afternoon was had by all- thank you for having us!
