4 years ago, I had an idea- a big, scary, butterflies in the tummy type of idea! I had decided that I was going to leave my teaching role! It was one of the most difficult decisions I’ve probably ever made. I had lots of reasons not leave my teaching post: I had a secure income, I knew the school really well and I’d been at that school for 13 years. 😬

4 years ago, I also walked into my new office at the Hartlepower building in Stranton and I had two students to teach! 😬😂

I read a post the other day and it made me smile because it said: it’s great being self employed because you get to choose which 80 hours in the week you want to work. That’s so true! 😂

I’m overjoyed at the amazing results my students have achieved again this year and I’m grateful to all parents who continue to support me! I will continue to work hard, promote a positive mindset and build confidence in every single child I teach to ensure they achieve their full potential! 🤩💪🏻🤩

It’s that time of the year again!
First GCSE English exam tomorrow. I just want to remind each and every one of my Y11 students that you’re all super stars!
You’ve all worked super hard in preparation for tomorrow and for the next three English exams.
Just a reminder: chin up, deep breaths and be confident! You’ve totally got this! 💪🏻
Good luck and knock the socks off that examiner! 😂

Wow! What a week it’s been for all of my A Level and GCSE students.
I’m absolutely over the moon with each and every one of them! After 2 years of disruption, they have all gone on to pass their English exams with flying colours.
I’m one proud teacher today!
I wish all of you every success in the future, you’ve all worked hard to achieve the grades you got! 🤩🤩🤩

Last English exam tomorrow! Lots and lots and lots of luck to each and every one of you!

I’ve had my crystal ball out, but I don’t know if we’ll be as lucky with the extracts as we were with the extract for paper 1 language! 😂

Regardless of what the extracts are, you all know your stuff! Go into that exam, in the morning, and smash it! 🤩🌟🤩

Well this is it!
Tomorrow is the first English exam and I would like to wish lots and lots of good luck to all of my students!
We’ve had a few wobbles this week and I’ve seen a few nervous faces, but I’d just like to remind each and every one of you that you ALL know your stuff!
Chin up, head high, deep breaths and smash it! 💪🏻
I know you will all walk into that exam and be able to confidently answer whatever the exam throws at you. Just remember: you’ve totally got this! 🤩

Amazing, marvellous, fantastic, super-duper! I’m immensely proud of all my Y11 students today!

GCSE day always makes me quite emotional and today I was probably more emotional than usual.
18 months of uncertainty, mostly teaching remotely and overcoming obstacles. You have all overcome all those difficulties and totally smashed your English GCSEs!

As I said this morning: the world is your oyster! Enjoy the next chapter in your journey and I’m sure you’ll smash that too! A massive well done! 🙌🙌

Another busy week this week getting my Y10s and functional skills students prepared for their mock and final exams. Once again, I have received some lovely feedback from parents that I am really delighted with.

I love teaching and I’m extremely passionate about making each and every one of my students passionate about their learning too!
