Monday Motivation

Big results don’t always come from big changes.

Sometimes it’s completing one piece of homework you were putting off.
Understanding one topic that didn’t make sense last week.
Getting one more question right.
Or simply deciding to try again.

Those small steps might not feel significant at the time, but they all add up.

For our students starting a new week, don’t focus on how far you still have to go. Focus on the next small step you can take today.

Small steps still lead to big results.

A new month, a new season and another opportunity to keep moving forward.

The school year is now well underway, routines are settling in and students are beginning to get a real feel for the year ahead.

October is a great time to reflect on those first few weeks, celebrate what’s going well and identify anything that might need a little more attention.

For our students, remember: progress doesn’t have to be huge to count. Small steps, consistently taken, can lead to big results.

Today, our thoughts are with the family, friends and colleagues of PC Matthew Blades as they say their final goodbyes.

A dedicated police officer, husband, father and much-loved member of our local community.

Supporting Students with SEND at LC Private Tuition

Every student learns differently, and sometimes a traditional classroom environment doesn't give a young person the time, flexibility or individual support they need to thrive.

At LC Private Tuition, we support students with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), adapting our approach to the individual rather than expecting the individual to adapt to us.

For us, that can mean:

Taking time to understand how each student learns best
Breaking learning into smaller, manageable steps
Revisiting topics as many times as needed
Using different teaching methods and resources
Providing a calm, supportive learning environment
Allowing additional processing and thinking time
Building confidence before increasing challenge
Celebrating progress that isn't always measured by a grade
Working alongside parents and carers to provide consistent support

Most importantly, we get to know the student behind the SEND, their strengths, interests, challenges and goals.

For some young people, success might mean achieving a particular GCSE grade. For another, it might be answering a question independently, walking into a lesson without feeling overwhelmed or beginning to believe that they can learn.

Progress looks different for every student and that's absolutely OK.

Resilience isn't about never finding things difficult.

It's about what you do when things get difficult.

It's getting a lower mark than you hoped for and deciding to try again.

It's struggling with a topic but continuing to ask questions.

It's making mistakes, learning from them and having another go.

It's remembering that "I can't do it" doesn't have to mean "I'll never be able to do it."

Some of the most important lessons our students learn aren't found in a textbook. Learning how to keep going when something feels hard is a skill they'll carry with them long after they leave the classroom.

This week, don't be afraid of getting something wrong.

Be brave enough to keep trying.

🎓 GCSE RESULTS DAY 2026 🎓

Today is the day!

After months of hard work, revision, exams and waiting, GCSE results are finally here.

Whatever that piece of paper says today, please be proud of yourself. 🖤

Your results are important, but they do not define who you are as a person.

That piece of paper doesn't show your kindness.
It doesn't show your generosity.
It doesn't show how much you care about others.
It doesn't show your sense of humour.
It doesn't show the times you kept going when things were difficult.
It doesn't show the challenges you've overcome or how much you've grown.

A grade is simply a snapshot of your performance in an exam on one particular day. It is not a measure of your worth, your potential or the person you will become.

So celebrate the results you're proud of, and if something hasn't gone quite the way you hoped, remember that there is always another route and another opportunity.

To all of our GCSE students – we are incredibly proud of you.
