Although, we’re in the early stages of our project it’s gathering so much support. We’ll be shortly going on the radio, and to a press conference.

Unsafe gaming is something most people can relate too.

How many times do we see children and families on devices, in public places?

How many parents wish they’d never got gaming equipment for their kids?

How many wished they spent less time on devices and more time as a family?

We’ve worked in some of the worse cases, where children wouldn’t even leave their bedrooms, missing school for years at a time, isolated and lonely. Conflict in families and a lot of stress and worry.

Our aim is to attend schools, community and sports groups to raise awareness of unsafe game play before it becomes a disorder. However, we’ll also be providing support for those already with the disorder.

2yrs research 7 months funding bids ..now feels real....

Thanks to national lottery players Jax story is now reality...

The project will pilot a programme that works together with families, communities and organisations to identify the signs, symptoms and issues of a gaming disorder and takes early action to raise awareness, prevent and address the damage caused by this disorder to children, young people, their parents and families, and wider community. It will be delivered over the the 5 areas of the Tees Valley in schools, youth clubs, sports clubs, community hubs, mother and children's groups. 15 schools/ alternative education agencies and 60 community groups and organisations will engage and be involved. At least 100 children and young people will benefit each month; as well as their families and wider communities.
