Sitting together around the table creates valuable opportunities for conversation, helping to build language skills, friendships and a sense of belonging.😊 Children also practise good table manners and develop independence as they manage their own mealtime routines. 🍽

🚜🐑 Farm Day at GSN-Harrow Weald & GSN-Canons Park 🐐🐓

Our nursery gardens were transformed into bustling farms as the animals came to visit us, creating an unforgettable Farm Day experience for our children! 🌾

The children had the exciting opportunity to become farmers for the day, meeting a variety of animals up close and taking part in real-life experiences such as feeding, grooming, caring for, and learning about them.👩‍🌾👨‍🌾 One of the highlights of the day was bottle-feeding the lambs, which quickly became a firm favourite among the children. 🐑🍼

Bringing the farm directly into our nursery environment allowed the children to develop confidence around animals while nurturing empathy, responsibility, and respect for living things. 🫶 Early interactions with animals can support children's emotional wellbeing, strengthen communication skills, encourage curiosity, and deepen their understanding of the natural world through meaningful, hands-on experiences.
