Opportunity is about more than ambition. People need genuine pathways that allow them to progress.

With conversations around growth, work and opportunity taking place at the Conservative Party Conference this week, it is important that education remains part of that discussion.

From supporting young people at the beginning of their journey to enabling adults to develop new skills throughout their careers, education can help ensure that opportunity is available at every stage of life.

I am pleased to see Regent Global Forum being promoted in the Blue Room this year, with members of our Regent team there helping to create connections and encourage dialogue.

These are important conversations, and I look forward to seeing what develops from them.

Strong educational institutions begin with people who genuinely care about their students.

Policies, technology and facilities all have an important role to play, but it is the people within education who create the environment where students feel supported, challenged and encouraged to succeed.
When students know that someone believes in their potential, it can shape not only their education, but the confidence and aspirations they carry with them afterwards.

For me, that human element should always remain at the heart of education.

Some moments make you realise just how far a journey has come.

Returning to Harrow is particularly meaningful because it connects Regent’s beginnings with an exciting new chapter for our students and our community.

So much has changed over the years, but our belief in the power of education and the opportunities it can create has remained constant.

I am incredibly excited to see this next chapter take shape and to continue building for the future.

Then and now — and still so much ahead of us. 💜

A brilliant achievement for Sharanie! 🏅

Today, Sharanie completed her first ever 10K, taking on the RunThrough Hyde Park 10K in London.

Four laps of Hyde Park, 10 kilometres and one very well-earned medal later — she did it! A fantastic milestone and something to be incredibly proud of. Well done, Sharanie!

Delighted to see our new Harrow Campus officially open.

The first 30 years. Now for the next. ❤️

When Selva and I exchanged rings in 1996, we could never have known where the next three decades would take us.

Since then, we have grown together, raised our family, built things we once only imagined and supported one another through every chapter along the way.

Thirty years later, we exchanged rings again — celebrating not only the years behind us, but everything we still hope to experience and achieve together.

There is something very special about being able to look back and realise how much of the journey has been shared.

Here’s to the next 30 years, Selva. ❤️

Good governance is rarely the most visible part of an organisation, but it shapes everything that follows.

Clear decisions, accountability and consistent standards create the foundations that allow people and institutions to grow with confidence.

For me, strong leadership is not only about setting direction. It is also about creating the structures and standards that help others succeed.
