In 1897, Agnes Eyden founded Quainton Hall School on Hindes Road in Harrow which makes 2022 our 125th Anniversary!
Various events are planned for the remainder of the year and in particular we are looking forward to welcoming past pupils and their families for a reunion on the afternoon of Saturday 11th June 2022. 🥳
Many of our former pupils may not have heard that, in September 2021, we became the Prep School of John Lyon School. We are no longer owned by the Anglican Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, but are now a part of the Harrow School Foundation, which includes Harrow School itself (boarding) and John Lyon School and ourselves - continuing as day schools, but now both co-educational. 🤝
The historic coming together has opened up many new and exciting opportunities by being a part of such a prestigious foundation. There has already been an injection of investment in our site, with more to come, and we have the benefit of being able to use the extensive facilities which John Lyon have on their Middle Road site, and at Sudbury Hill (their sports grounds).
We look forward to welcoming any Old Quaintonians and their families for the reunion on 11th June. There will be a chance to tour the school and see the changes which are underway, meet with old friends, meet some current and previous staff, view some of our archive of photos and ephemera, and of course to share some refreshments!
We very much hope that you can come and join us that day, from 2pm. We are sending this invitation as widely as we can, but we will undoubtedly miss some of the Old Quaintonian families with whom we have lost touch. If you are in contact with any others, of your year group or more widely, please pass on the details so they can come along too!
Please reply directly to [email protected] to get in touch – we really do look forward to welcoming you back!

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
For the Fallen, Laurence Binyon (1869-1943)

"At the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month – we will remember them."
Lest we forget.

Last week saw pupils return to the school for the beginning of the 2021/2022 school year.
Whilst we know it was a while back for many of our Old Quaintonian Association members, what do YOU remember about your first days at the school? Do you remember your first school lunch? Who were the first friends that you made?
We'd love to hear about them, so please do post in the comments below.

Even though it has been a long time for many of you since you were at the school, we thought that you'd like to see some of the changes taking place here over the Summer holidays.
We’re already busy working on the refurbishment of areas (and creation of some) so that we are raring to go when the children return in September.
Here’s just some of the areas we are working to enhance;
• Replacement of the Astro pitch (top of the school)
• All weather playground surface in the garden area
• Re-decorate the front lobbies both outer and inner areas
• Creation of an office for the new Deputy Head - Pastoral
• Re-decoration of the dining hall

EGGciting News! We are delighted to announce that all five of our ducklings hatched early on Thursday. They were left in the incubator for 4-5 hours to fluff up before being moved to the brooder box.

In a 2011 U.S study about memories, it was suggested that memory is like a streaming video, that is bookmarked, both consciously and subconsciously, by facts, scenes, characters, and thoughts.
One of the easiest ways to evoke memories is to look back at old photographs and so we’ve been trawling through the archives again to see where we can bring these memories right up to date, with a ‘then and now’ post.
So here’s our first one – Fr Mike, when he was Master of the Confraternity in 1984. From his time as a pupil, through to his tenure now as Senior Teacher (Administration), Fr Mike is a mainstay of Quainton Hall School & Nursery, Harrow and has seen many pupils come through our doors as they start their educational journey. We don’t know what we’d do without him!
We’d love to see some of your ‘then and now’ photos, so why not add them to the comments section below. 👇
