❤️ One of the questions parents ask most is…
“How do I know if my child actually needs extra support?”
Every child develops at their own pace, but sometimes you may notice little signs that they’re beginning to lose confidence.
These signs don’t necessarily mean they’re falling behind, they may simply be telling us that they could benefit from a little extra encouragement and support. 🌱
The earlier we build confidence, the more positive learning can become.
If you’ve been wondering whether a little extra support could help your child, I’m always happy to have a chat, no pressure and no obligation. ❤️

Recommended Reads: Years 3 & 4
Looking for a new book to get your Year 3 or Year 4 child excited about reading?
Here are three of my favourites to try:
🐉 The Boy Who Grew Dragons – perfect for children who love dragons, magic and adventure!
🧙 The Worst Witch – a fun and magical story full of friendship, mishaps and mischief.
🦊 The Last Firefox – a brilliant adventure with friendship, mystery and a little bit of magic.
Whether your child is an enthusiastic reader or needs a little encouragement to pick up a book, finding a story that matches their interests can make such a difference. ❤️
Which one would your child choose?

One of the best moments as a teacher is seeing a child realise...
"I can do this!"
Activities like this help children practise reading, spelling and writing in a practical, engaging way without feeling like they're completing worksheets.
Learning through play encourages children to take risks, have a go and build confidence one small success at a time.
That's exactly the approach I love bringing to tutoring sessions.

I'll also be sharing practical ideas and activities to help parents support their children's learning at home, so whether you're looking for tuition or simply some inspiration, I'd love to have you here.
If you're a local family looking for a supportive, nurturing approach to learning, I'd love to connect. ❤️

Helping your child become a confident reader doesn't have to feel overwhelming.
Here are five simple ways to make reading a positive part of your day:
🌸 Read little and often.
🌸 Sound out words together.
🌸 Don't rush to correct every mistake.
🌸 Talk about the story as you read.
🌸 Make reading visible by keeping books around the house.
Small moments every day soon add up.
Save this post so you can come back to it whenever you need a little reading inspiration.

Reading is about so much more than sounding out words.
One of my favourite ways to help children develop confidence is by using practical, hands-on activities that encourage them to think about what they're reading.
Activities like this help children to:
🌸 build comprehension
🌸 develop vocabulary
🌸 improve confidence
🌸 discover that reading can be enjoyable.
When children enjoy reading, they're far more likely to choose to read independently.
📖 What's your child's favourite book at the moment?

🛒 Learning through play is one of my favourite ways to teach maths!
This simple shop activity helps children practise so many important skills without it feeling like a worksheet.
🌸 Counting money
🌸 Adding totals
🌸 Finding different combinations
🌸 Giving change
🌸 Problem solving
🌸 Building confidence with real-life maths
Children often learn best when they're actively involved and having fun, and activities like this make maths feel meaningful.
What's your child's favourite way to practise maths at home?

Supporting Wellbeing at Home ❤️
Children learn best when they feel safe, calm, and supported.
Here are five simple ways to make learning at home feel more positive:
🌸 Check in with feelings before starting homework or learning.
🌸 Praise effort and perseverance, not just correct answers.
🌸 Keep expectations realistic after a busy school day.
🌸 Remind children that mistakes are part of learning.
🌸 Build in short movement or mindfulness breaks to reset focus.
Small, consistent moments of encouragement help children build confidence, resilience, and a positive relationship with learning. 🌟
